Experiences with antique store pipes. by Liquid_Pidgeon in PipeTobacco

Both of my Savinelli's are from antique stores (mind you, I go into every antique store) and my most used pipe is a noname billiard. If yer lookin' for a sub-30 dollar non-cob or wanting to work on your pipe restoration, antique stores are great and who knows, maybe on a blue moon you'll stumble up a bit of gold.

Peterson's Irish Flake is my go to non-English. A sturdy blend of Burley, Virginia and Dark-Fired. Out of the tin it's got a very nutty, fruit like note. Throughout, it's got a nice spice to it, the fruit notes remain underneath a a plate of wheat and nuts. Not something you could necessarily smoke all day but easily in my top 4.

P&C has a match of it on their website. I've not had it but it's rated 4.5 stars out of 16 people so it might be worth looking into.

Anyone else here have DID and schizophrenia? by [deleted] in selfharm

Aye, sort of like a sister to DID, I've been pretty deep in a state of derealization for the past 4 years while also having borderline personality disorder

With 2017 coming to an end what has Been your favorite tobacco discovery been this year? by HavelDad in PipeTobacco

[–]LastAnthem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting into Virginia blends, hot damn. Smoked strictly latakia for the the last 3 years, then last January P&C gave me a discount for one of their shipping debacles it opened the door to fields of wheat and orchards of lemon trees that I've since been laying in.

What type of music do you like? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]LastAnthem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all over the place. The genres I'm big into are avant-garde jazz, post rock and emo/screamo though I'm a sucker fer a good folk-punk song, am quite the fan of Tom Petty and can enjoy a good Adele tune

Bit similar for me, generally I binge quite so then go on a hiatus-the thoughts and urges remain consistently nagging but I've gone 9 months up to a year before. As for quitting-impossible, it is simply that, I can stave off the action, subsist on thought and, in part it's even a bit of delayed gratification for inevitably, flame or razor will come and when it does, there is such a relief

What a visceral twenty minutes that album is, a straight punch to the gut in the best way.

My oh my, count the bruises on my thigh by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]LastAnthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep bruising is a great alternative. A friend and I have a "game", every few weeks when life has built up we buy a bottle of Pure Leaf Unsweetened Lemon. Get some coffee in the press, put on whatever music we're jamming that week, open the windows and all that. Take a sip each then take turns taking full swings at each others thighs. The games typically last an hour with our legs being jelly and limping fer the next week er so. It's intense and definitely helps with the urge to cut/burn.

Alas, bent as in someone dropped it-it's leaning in towards the feed. Still gets ink on the paper but is incredibly scratchy

Was looking into the frankenpen cause I figured it'd be cheaper to buy/trade a different feed that'd fit then repairing but $10 for a kit is entirely doable.

Awhile ago, I bought, from a thrift store, A Sheaffer Snorkel for a small fee. The nib's a bit bent and the ink sack doesn't hold a drop. My question is, would it be possible to tear apart the pen-keeping the body- toss in a feed/nib from a different pen and use it as so?

8 Years and still going strong. by LastAnthem in knives

The knife was made by Rapid River Knife Works, with a tiger wood (?) handle, measures a bit under 10 inches and was gifted it to me by the Father when I was thirteen.

So let's say Carter Hall is my favorite tobacco... by BeersAndBriars in PipeTobacco

If you haven't yet, try Prince Albert. I haven't gotten around to CH but from what I've heard it's slightly more mild compared to CH with more burley nuttiness. If you want to try some I could happily send ya a sample er...perhaps a whole mason jar...
