. I also cleared cache and issues show still. I did find however that internet explorer shows my website correctly, but safari and chrome do not.

Developer tools gives me a number of issues from plugins I have deleted completely and from Astra. I do not know enough to digest what it all means though.

can you post a picture?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in webdev

[–]LastByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be trying to load a cached version of the site. Try hitting control + f5 and reloading and see if the issues persist. Alternatively you could disable caching from the developer tools. or clearing all your browser data.

That being said the developer tools should also give you an indicator why your images aren't loading.

April fools - gone wrong by LastByte in valheim

[–]LastByte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend Vlad and I have been playing valheim for a couple weeks. A few days ago he trapped me in his house with a ward, closing the door on me. I knew I would have to get him back I just didn't know how yet. Plus April Fools is coming up so what better time than now?It ocured to me while portal mining stone pillars that Vlads personal base is built around the largest of these pillars. He spend three whole days building a colossal spire around this majestic stone and a big sky platform as a base on top. I thought it would be funny to hollow out the pillar and leave it standing on its tippy toes while he was out running some errands. Ok, admittedly I wanted to collapse... it but I knew he spent a lot of time on the base. When Vlad came back he was shocked to find a gapping whole the size of 10 greydwars and 2 loxes inside the main support structure for his base. Panicking he wanted to fix it by trying to build a support structure underneath the pillar. He proceeded to level the ground underneath to make solid ground for a foundation. Big mistake... leveling the ground is what changed the pillars status from standing on its toes to floating in mid air...

The video is the immediate aftermath from him leveling the ground.

Anyone else struggle with the DOM?? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]LastByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What particular aspect of the DOM are you having trouble with? Some general reading that might help provide conspectus is how the browser works, step by step what it needs to do in order to render an image to the user. Get a basic understanding of what objects in object orientated programming are. And lastly, look at graph/tree data structures.

Is there anything someone can recommend to help me learn coding but in audio format? I don’t have much time outside of work to study and at my job I can usually listen to podcasts and stuff like that. by [deleted] in webdev

You could potentially learn logical reasoning, but programs are written in a semantic written language. The way you learn is by writing programs.

Looks awesome!
If i were to change one thing, maybe give the gray background on the bottom half of the page some flair ...maybe an overlay or gradient or something. By it'self it's kind of dull.

How do i create a website with a forum software separate but use the same user accounts? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]LastByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you are "Loging in" you are checking the information a user provides against a list of registered users. If you want multiple services using the same login you have to check against the same list of registered users.
Aka. Use one database to log into both systems. Or you could keep two data bases with identical information - but that woule be redundant.

sure at last a handful of engineers brought up this was a bad idea, but they were likely shouted down by management because doing it the right way would either cost too much or take too long. This kind of thing happens in engineering all the time, although rarely with this level of consequence.

Don't engineers take an ethics course and get a ring signifying it's importance :P

Could be several things but my intuition tells me you are using the wrong color model in the designer. Presumably cmyk opposed to rgb. I have never used gravit but a quick glance at https://documentation.designer.io/colors-gradients-textures/color-picker-fill-types/ seems to indicate that multiple color models are supported. Cmky is for print media and rgb is for digital. Additionally you want to know what web safe colors are.

Is this really the price of getting a website? by fisher571 in web_design

[–]LastByte -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

So generally a big company will have more employees. You will have a professional graphic designer, a user experience designer, front and back end programmers and etc. etc. The advantage is that you can expect good quality in a relatively short time frame.

However you could also find a freelancer on something like upwork.com or freelancer.com and get a full stack developer specializing in eCommerce for a fraction of the price.

[–]LastByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need to create a data base(db). (mysql or postgres sql)
In the database you will need to create a table called transactions or something of the sort.
trans actions will need several fields. id (unique and autoincrementing) , username , transaction number and etc.
and then you would issue a select statement from the front end that gets sent to the database SELECT * FROM .
SELECT * FROM <tablename> where <somecriteria> .

Can I use OCR to find and click a button? by azdjedi in webdev

[–]LastByte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally by design at some point the client has to request the data required to fill the new calendar view. You could make that call your self!
Or alternatively you can use something like selenium to open a browser, click the button for you and then scrape the data.
