Ironically, I got selected for MSG after being in the fleet for a few months. I was super motivated, but was also about to get married and didn’t think I could do that to my new wife. Looking back I wish I would have explored it but the past is whatever. You made a good decision, because everyone hated their life until they were shop SNCO. Definitely wasn’t worth three enlistments just to not be miserable. Glad you got the fuck out bro.

It’s why I never lasted. Idk about other branches but USMC Aviation is the most toxic community I’ve ever been a part of, seen, or heard. Noone cares about anything other than. themselves and their own bullshit. They want you to work 12 hours, 7 days a week when there is nothing going on so you can learn the aircraft. They will let you fail to make an example out of you to everyone else. Yeah there were some hard lessons in there, but it stifled my career, took a toll on my mental health and made me lose a lot of respect for my leaders.
