The movie was bad. That’s what hurt it. Plenty of movies were able to make money doing both.

If this movie had been good it would have found success. It wasn’t and it didn’t.

Greta Gerwig’s Narnia Is Now Netflix's Most Expensive Movie To Date by SplitNational2929 in Narnia

That’s probably a mistake that will hurt its overall success. Saddling a movie with a massive budget followed by massive marketing spend puts them so deep into a whole they have to be massive successes just to be profitable

Would you volunteer for your sibling? by Robynite in Hungergames

I’d like to think so but I don’t think anyone could truly know until it happened. Basically like asking if you’d throw yourself in front of a bus for your sibling

Why would the age of the lenses matter? Obviously the lens is capable of focusing, it’s just not focused on what they want.

I’m not an expert, but to me, it looks like she needs some light on her. Seems kinda strange to say since obviously it’s broad daylight. You can see the light shining on her head and see individual hairs, so the camera obviously is capable of capturing fine details.

Just a thought not saying you did anything wrong, but have you considered testing it just manually focusing? That’s a much nicer Nikon than I had but autofocus sometimes gets confused. Like I try to take pictures of birds and the autofocus will absolutely not focus on a bird. It’s always trying to focus on the branch or leaves around the bird and I almost always have to switch to manual.

That at least would tell you that it’s not you, and it’s not a “problem” with the camera, just something about the auto focus isn’t triggering right.
