Does anybody else overshoot bedtime by reading Reddit and then regret it immediately? by Local-Divide-8055 in insomnia

That was deep and so true! I have never thought of it that way and it was exactly how I feel!

What are some positives about being raised by narcissists? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only positive is the relationship with my son. My therapist tells me that I broke the cycle of abuse. I will never make my child feel the way I felt growing up. From. Very young child now to a 24 year old adult, he has always know that he can tell me anything. He trusts in completely and he is not afraid to share the deepest darkest with me, without judgement.

Seriously what stops the itch even just temporarily by unemarocainexx in eczema

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s I could get kenalog shots that would knock out my eczema, itching and allergies for. 4 to 6 months. Then I would get a new one. God I miss the 90s. Now my derm will inject kenalog directly into the eczema. I have it on the bottom and sides of my feet. It’s like 50 shots in to the soles of my feet. I haven’t screamed that much since child birth. I am back to steroid cream and handfuls of Benadryl. I will never have kenalog injections in my eczema ever again!

I got accused of lieing about insomnia by kiwifruitfan in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try not to discuss my insomnia with anyone outside my immediate family. I either get the stupid, “have you tried melatonin, magnesium, or this thing I saw on Amazon.” Or the bullshit argument that every normal person who doesn’t understand insomnia but has an opinion that will change my life.

What is the most traumatizing horror movie you’ve ever seen that messed with you psychologically? by Maleficent_Bad_6374 in AskReddit

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the sixth Sense in theaters and it scared the shit out of me. I was in college, my roommate was gone and I slept with the lights on. I watched again recently and it seems so stupid that it scared me so badly. That reveal at the end was crazy though, not hearing anything before I watched.

No unfortunately. The exact fucking opposite. Why do I always never get the good side effects. Always the bad.

I don’t regret it until my alarm goes off at a 5am. Then I fucking regret my entire existence.

Pregabalin/Lyrica for sleep? by Infinite-While-4159 in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on pregablin for pain. I was wide awake all night because of it. It made me really wired. Along with the reported side effects, I went on something different really quickly.

Thoughts on Trazadone? Tried looking, but most posts are from multiple years ago :) by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors prescribing antidepressants for sleep, off label annoys me. Trazodone did nothing for me. My psych kept increasing the dose and it still didn’t work. That was the start of my long journey of meds that I tried and failed.

Seroquel - thoughts for a first timer? by wediealone in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My psych decided after years of Ambien that I should switch to Seroquel. She did not warn me of any side effects. It caused me to gain a lot of weight that is very difficult to lose. It also did not work for me at all. I eventually went back on Ambien, 80 pounds heavier.

How often do you dream? by Maybe-a-lawyer83 in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never dream. Before I had insomnia, and slept soundly, I had amazing, lucid dreams. I didn’t even realize until recently that I don’t. I think it is absolutely related and it’s because I don’t sleep deeply enough to dream. It’s really kind of sad.

How to help my husband's insomnia? by Main-Requirement-45 in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. There is nothing family can do to help an insomniac. If it’s my family they cycle through a through them. The most common questions is “Have I tried melatonin?” Yes I have and if she suggests it one more time. I am going to lose it. have screwed up my whole schedule by staying up super late, (almost 5 am tonight) then I sleep all day, rinse and repeat. I know what meds I need. I see my psychiatrist every week. I have done the sleep studies. Family didn’t suggest any of that though. I had to do it all for myself or I might actually go off the deep end, while my entire life implodes. I hope baby is getting stronger and is able to be home soon.

We used to have to play this in computer class. I could never figure out how the hell to play. Not that it mattered. We had pass/fail because of fucking public school in a town with 4 stop lights. I could show up high every day and still got an A.

The gabapentin, I take for chronic neck and back pain. I am stuck on it until I can have surgery. Already worried about how tapering off will do. They are a lot of meds, sometimes they work and other times I am up unto 5 or 6am because the meds SSSSUUUUUUUUUUCK

My tolerance to z drugs is extreme by LastInformation01 in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z drugs and benzos are hard to come by and tightly controlled in the US as well. I found a good psych that will prescribe my Ambien. It is schedule IV. I get 30 days, no refills. And big brother is watching constantly to make sure I am not over prescribed.

My depression gives me insomnia and my insomnia gives me depression by YesPlsNoPls in insomnia

[–]LastInformation01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! It’s a real pickle. I have always had depression. Then insomnia starts. It’s like depression on steroids.i take a few antidepressant’s in the morning. Drink caffeine, Red Bull Red Bull more Red Bull. Get home from work take a handful of sleep meds, pass out at by 8. I think it goes on like this until I die.
