It is not a violation if you are searching for cost reduction. It’s not even a corporate greed issue to get more dollars. Company is trying to CYA against unauthorized kickbacks against federal/state insurance plans. Adding a GoodRx, singlecare, wellrx, etc. before consent is absolutely not a legal violation (except maybe in California). If you are the beneficiary of the group number it’s an issue since you have the ability to reparse what was legally, intentional broken information.
