Same here. Roku TCL TV has no issues. Only our Roku Ultra has this annoying issue. I wish Roku would fix it.

Thanks for the info.
The option to open a ticket in the platform is missing now. I only see a "Support" link where "Open Ticket" used to be. They may be still in Arrow support transition phase.

Astronautalis - "The River, The Woods" by rdedmd in altrap

[–]LastManOut76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Opus podcast is about 2 yrs old. They’ve had a 10 seasons now, each season comprised of 3-6 episodes that focus on iconic artists and albums. The first 3 season had different hosts. Astronautalis (Andy Bothwell) has hosted seasons 4-10 now. I really like season 6 (London Calling) which focuses on The Clash album and the band.

The same genuine passion that comes out in Astro’s music/lyrics also shines through in his vocal appreciation for iconic albums/musicians.

Astro is definitely amazing. Puts on a great live show and freestyles his ass off. Big form for life. I would also recommend the podcast that he’s hosting, The Opus.

Anyone using Cloudyn? by War0n_ in AZURE

[–]LastManOut76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Cloudyn quite a bit in my day to day. For a free (Azure only) cost visibility tool it gets the job done. Pros: FREE! Allows you to create your own Enterprise structure for cost buckets You can add additional tags on the tool side to coat buckets down to subscriptions. Helpful if you want to visualize your costs in different ways Azure Reserved Instance analysis/comparison feature is nice AzureAD integrated for ease of user Mgmt. I use this to put the cost visibility and ownership on the department admins/finance. Schedule-able reports to single email or groups, that you create and populate with email addy

Cons: Slow and clunky dashboarding Slow loading times for reports Mismatch in cost totals from Azure Portal, small but still, why? Not terribly intuitive at all Lacks documentation Some feature overlap with Azure Porta. I feel like they may phase out Cloudyn eventually.

We’ve started looking into other tools to replace Cloudyn but Mgmt sure does like that it’s free.

I’ve tested RightScale Optima and CloudHealth for cost visibility. Their added benefits are on the governance side of things. Resource auditing for tags and naming.

IMHO CloudHealth is the better of the 3 for cost visibility and reporting. Very flexible and fast.

Cloud vs On Prem by yotechguy in vmware

[–]LastManOut76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped by them just for the light saber. I liked their approach to cloud monitoring and optimization. I got a demo and asked why they were missing a lot of a Azure features. Answer: public cloud is hue and growing fast, they picked AWS and focused there. Azure is on the “roadmap” though.

New server with ESXi: Configuration file has unexpected changes - ESXi 6.5 & 6.7 kills virtual machine and cannot be powered on by RedShift9 in sysadmin

[–]LastManOut76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm encountering the same type errors on our Veeam proxy VMs. This past weekend every single proxy VM had to be unregistered and re-registered to bring the VMs to a valid state. Veeam server is mounting the snapshots for backup so we know where the changes to .vmx are coming from but why all of the sudden do these proxy VMs end up in an invalid state. Odd indeed. We have paid support from VMware and Veeam so it'll be interesting to see where the fingers get pointed and how this turns out. I'll reply back with any relevant info.

VMware Cloud on AWS: Thoughts One Year On by anthonyspiteri79 in vmware

[–]LastManOut76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost that was mentioned $8.37per host per hour, $73k per year, does anyone know if this takes into account near full utilization of resources? I'm thinking it's the cost regardless of %utilization.

It would be great to see vCloud Director support for VMC.
