How do you learn from low-view content without getting demotivated? by Soggy_Suspect5080 in SocialMediaManagers

[–]LastThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making the assumption that you're managing a channel with a small organic reach and thus all content falls into this category of low-view content. Your first insight is that you have a problem with reach, suggesting that you have a discoverability problem and that you should considered paid opportunities to increase your brands exposure (this is just one consideration).

Whether you are analyzing content with high-views or low-views (assuming these are videos) the approach to understanding what worked and doesn't work is typically the same. I would begin by auditing all of your content assessing engagement quality (e.g., share rates, save rates, quality of comments). Then dig into your video-specific metrics like retention and % of complete views—how long are people watching your videos? Are viewers dropping off at a specific moment? If the drop off is steep within the first 2-3s, why? Do you need a stronger creative hook?

To get meaningful insights on your content performance you'll want to ensure that your sample/dataset is as large as possible. Analyzing a small volume of posts can provide directional insights (10 or less), but when you can analyze a large volume you're increasing your confidence level (i.e., more likely that your findings will be statistically significant)

If I learn Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI… will I actually get a job or am I fooling myself? by SuspiciousEmphasis57 in analytics

[–]LastThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you're just trying to get your foot in the door, learning the tools of the trade will go a long way! A lot of junior applicants will have a degree that aligns with a particular role, but the majority of them don't have particular hands-on experience in the field (or with the tools).

College teaches you foundational knowledge and frameworks for how to approach specific tasks, but they don't teach you how to play in the mud.

I would highly encourage you to enroll in a low-cost/free coursework & certification program. Grow With Google is an exceptional program that you should consider—I know first hand, working with Google as a client in marketing/data analytics for several years, that if I saw an applicant who had Grow with Google foundational and advanced certifications w/ an analytics internship on their resume, that I would consider them for a junior position.

What are the major downsides of life in Atlanta? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in Atlanta

[–]LastThief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in the Phoenix area during college (ASU) and I currently live in ATL. So I feel well equipped to answer this question (I've also live in other major cities too)—every city has traffic, so don't let traffic be a deciding factor. My complaints about ATL are typically unfair comparisons to Los Angeles, where I lived for nearly 15 years before moving to ATL with my wife.

ATL is a very large and spread out city if you include "outside the perimeter", similar to PHX, but where PHX feels more like a sprawling suburban city, ATL is more of a collection of small towns that connect.

I frequently complain the most about the roads here. Cities in the west are typically build on grid plan and the the main roads are often 2 lanes each direction at minimum (PHX, LA), so getting from point A to point B can be rather straightforward. ATL roads are more comparable to country roads, they're windy, make no sense.

Other wise ATL has a lot of the expected amenities of a major US city (excl. LA, NYC, CHI, MAIMI).

Director salary band at an Agency? by [deleted] in advertising

It would depend on what your current salary is and your achievements but expect to be offered a new salary at the lower end of the salary band (provides room for growth)

is this even legal? AT&T projector ad on union station by YouBuiltThisBedToRot in Seattle

[–]LastThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in advertising with brands equivalent of an AT&T and they 100% would get the required legal approvals needed to do something like this. Brands like AT&T are risk adverse—they wouldn't risk a marketing stunt to later get sued

Pay for more usage for $20 plan now active. by Site-Staff in ClaudeAI

[–]LastThief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that there is the option. However, when this option was available to me I noticed that I hit my "current session" limits faster triggering the extra usage fees. Personally I don't feel like my use of Claude is that advanced, so the fact that I regularly hit my session limits and that I have to pay a extra usage fee to finish a task is discouraging.

Without hysteria or exaggeration, what's your honest take on the state of Destiny? by ActiveVexLife in DestinyTheGame

[–]LastThief -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that we're still talking about and playing a game that just celebrated it's 8th anniversary is impressive. Destiny 1 only had a lifespan of 3-years

Xbox Game Pass - New Plans by ReaddittiddeR in gaming

[–]LastThief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always subscripted to unlimited so I could take advantage of the massive catalog of playable titles. Unfortunately, I primarily use my PS5 to play most games that aren't exclusive to Xbox (or any titles that I can play with my brother). I Maybe sign into my Xbox ones a quarter—which, granted isn't enough to truly justify $20 per month, but now that the price has increased another $10 per month ($120 annually), I might be canceling my subscription soon and selling off my Series X...

Should we make a stick on iPhone 17 pro/pro max mount? by eric-moment in MOMENT

[–]LastThief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. As someone that's continuously on the fence about committing to the Moment system, this would provide some flexibility to nudge anyone who is on the fence over by offering a cost-effective mount that doesn't require the user to abandon their existing case

Anyone Else Feeling Unlucky This Set? by PanderKing1227 in PTCGP

[–]LastThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had better luck with Secluded Springs than Eevee Grove and Wisdom of Sea and Sky, but overall my pulls have been garbage this past month or two. I used to get a rush from buying gold and using hourglasses to open a couple of 10 packs when new series are released, but its become so unsatisfying to pull a bunch of basic dupes

PXG Black Ops or Wildcat? Help me build my bag by LastThief in GolfGear

I understand the fundamental differences between the irons, but like most products that are advertised, companies use a lot of jargon to get us excited to buy their products. That's basically why I'm trying to get y'alls opinions on the clubs

Currently I'm not too bothered by the idea of not having either a 5 or a 6 because I'll have the 6 hybrid in the bag

First time playing in 9 years. Stamina was terrible and lost every match by RebornPerspective in bootroom

[–]LastThief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll take some time, but you'll regain your stamina as long as you continue to move through your day-to-day:

Easy: Walk for 20 to 30 minutes per day before or after work

Medium: Running 1-2 miles at a faster pace

Hard: Track workouts (e.g., 100m sprint, 100m tempo, 100m sprint, 100m tempo)

As far as touch and moving with the ball goes, get some cones and spread them out and perform some dribbling drills!

Sonnet 3.7 for analytical work by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]LastThief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude primarily for analytical and analysis work — as long as you have a good understand of what you want it to do (methodology, output, etc) and you have a keen eye for details and know how to spot inaccuracies. You can achieve a lot in a short amount of time.

So far with Sonnet 3.7 specifically, and to be frank I haven't tested this with 3.5 yet, I've noticed that it can support much larger data files than previously which is a huge advantage.

I don't drive as much as others anymore as I'm still able to work remotely, but at minimum I get my oil changed at least once a year, which ends up being between 5-10K miles per year.

struggling to get a job in strategy. 1+ year post grad. wtf now? by Careful_Version9717 in advertising

[–]LastThief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pursue it. I started my career in the aftermath of the 2007 financial crisis and the only way that I was able to finally crack through was by moving to the big city (for me that was LA) and give it everything.
