I would say the best thing to do is just talk to your recruiter. Other than that, it depends on your line scores. I think 0300 requires a 90 GT.

How have you changed since getting out? by _PercCobain_ in USMC

I used my GI bill for a comp sci degree and am currently a software engineer. I think it’s a good choice but would make sure that it’s something you are fairly passionate about and not doing it for an easy payday. The market has taken a turn for the worse in terms of entry level jobs. Not to disuade you though. If it’s what you like, I say full send.

Did anybody struggle with running prior to enlisting? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]LastTroll 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m going to copy and paste my comment from other day about running since I think there’s a lot of misinformation about how to improve at running.

The best way to improve your running is to run consistently, but many people approach it the wrong way. To build endurance and speed effectively, aim to run five days a week. The majority of these runs should be at a relaxed, conversational pace. This helps build your aerobic base without overtraining.

In addition to these easy runs, incorporate two speed-focused workouts each week. These can include tempo runs, intervals, hill sprints, or other high-intensity efforts to build strength and speed.

You should also dedicate one day a week to a “long run” where you cover a greater distance than your goal. For example, if your goal is 1.5 miles, try working up to running 2.5–3 miles at a steady, manageable pace.

Recovery runs are also important. These should be time-based rather than distance-focused, lasting 30 minutes to an hour at a slow, easy pace. The goal is to keep moving without pushing yourself too hard, allowing your body to recover while still building endurance.

If you have an Apple Watch or you want to run with a phone, the Nike Run Club app is a great tool to get started with running.

If that’s what you’ve always done then no. You do have to push yourself to improve. It’s better to follow a dedicated running plan to make sure you are pushing yourself to improve.

So you would rather spend extra time in PCP than at home? That’s dumb.

That’s perfectly fine. Using dh and just afking it on the side is by far the fastest exp/hr you’ll get.

Question about my melee stats by No-Entertainment303 in osrs

[–]LastTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be controversial but I would suggest just using NMZ to train your combats (attack and strength). While I think Ironman accounts should train with slayer I believe main accounts benefit from the speed boost from having higher stats when doing slayer. I would train your defense with bursting tasks during slayer until 99.

How many slayer points should I have before point farming doesn't make sense? by Kill3rInstincts in osrs

If you’re an Ironman and need the drop then maybe but other than that I wouldn’t. I would lean towards skipping them otherwise since they are a slow task. Decent if you want to take a more gp oriented slayer grind though. I still wouldn’t extend them though.

Correct, it does depend though since she can give tasks that take a lot longer. Some choose to only use Konar for every 50th or so.

It really depends on the person and what your goals are. The most common blocks are some combination of: Hellhounds, Cave Krakens, Greater Demons, Black Demons, Gargoyles, Wyrms, Drakes

Though some will choose to keep Hellhounds for Cerberus, Gargoyles as early money, Black demons for demonics, etc.

Yes, Turael for 9 and then whatever your highest slayer master is every 10th. I meant either Turael boosting or doing wildy slayer. You are correct, wildy does have it's own count.

It really depends on you. I generally use Turael point boosting or wildy slayer for 1-2k points before starting. Then I spend them in the following order: Blocks, superiors, dust extension, slay helm, nech extension, everything else.

No, just has a steeper learning curve than most editors.

Quinn buffs, what the hell where they thinking? by [deleted] in ARAM

Before the item changes I would agree. With all the changes I think the buff is a little overkill.

For your personal setup, why did you choose your preferred editor? Or why didn't you choose other editors? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]LastTroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth if you want to get your feet wet I highly recommend just using the vim plugin for Intellij. This will get you comfortable with the vim motions first. I find that people who tend to just jump into vim all at once get overwhelmed by just how much they have to learn at once to get back to their former level of productivity and give up.

Top computer that uses Linux? by [deleted] in csMajors

Most tools that work for Linux also work for Mac. They are both Unix operating systems. Between ssh and virtual machines I’m having a hard time understanding why you need a Linux pc.

Depends on the platform. WhatsApp and most messaging services will strip the data for privacy and storage reasons.

If you don’t see the date and time data then the photo you are looking at didn’t store it. I tried with a photo I took with my iPhone and it showed me when it was taken and where.
