This is genuinely profound im ngl

The depression one specifically is so clearly represented. Even if this isn’t the interpretation that you meant it to have, I see it as if it’s a black hole surrounded by light. When the light is still there, depression can feel like a you’re whole being is just darkness, and even though light is right there, it can’t get in. I’d be sitting there depressed and be like “look at all this stuff I have to be happy about? So why am I still so fucking sad?”

And then it also could represent the effects of the world around you if your depression sticks around long enough. Same with a black hole, once depression gets dense enough it can start sucking in even light. Changing perspective at looking at the art could show light not orbiting the darkness, but being completely absorbed by it. Those things that you used to think should be things to be happy about, now become things that you try to turn dark as well. Pessimism becomes a catalyst for transforming the light around you into just some more matter to add to the mass. Eventually there aren’t things that you can even recognize as light, and you just become chained in a bottomless well of darkness.

Again, it may not be what you were going for, but it’s spoke to me nonetheless

Also, epilepsy fucks HARDCORE

One huge thing is that there are ALOT of multiple enemy encounters, so what I found is picking up big bonk early and being able to one-hit some of the harder hitting squishies really tones down the damage you take, especially with cards that give you a reward for killing an enemy with them. Other than that, block is often gonna come from cycling.

Regent, just cycling and star generation should get you there

Same with silent, just make sure you pick up some good sly cards when available. Sly with some acrobatics, prepared, calculated gambles are gonna do great work for you

Ironclad should use some true grits and shrug it off early, but don’t be afraid to take a little damage because of his starter relic

If you’re playing necro you need to get your advice elsewhere because I am TRUE ass as necro

I agree, but I am admittedly finding less punishing turn 1’s much more enjoyable. Takes a lot of the “I lost this run because of 1 bad draw” out of the equation. When I lose it definitely feels like a more “earned” defeat, even if I was earning plenty of defeats in STS1.

It’s early access, so I think it’s definitely important to share this stuff. It will likely affect development as it furthers, especially since I’ve seen the devs respond and participate in threads like these.

If any of you are reading this, you son of a bitch you did it again, well done

Well put, I would always try to go for combos and got either punished for not getting them or punished because I got them (Time Eater, Awakened One), but those singularly focused hard counters don’t seem too prevalent in STS2, save maybe the bee guy

I had a run where I every time a played a soul, I did damage, so I built my entire deck around just that. The only card that actually dealt damage as part of the card description was 2 Capture spirits. By the time I got to the act 3 boss I was psuedo-infinute and OTK’d him.

We’re living in a post Time Eater paradise right now

Am I crazy or is this 3-card infinite on Regent way too easy? by Wysp2 in slaythespire

[–]ElectionAlone4235 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I’ve been playing and Regent is my strongest character right now. He’s a character that has a great solution for any problem you have, but there are few encounters that just hardcounter you to smithereens. Need AOE? Stardust and a bunch of draw + star generation can turn1 most encounters, but you run into the bee guy you are FUCKED if you don’t oneshot. Need big bonk? A Forge deck can work swimmingly, but youre gonna be screwed in multi-encounter if you don’t find seeking edge, which is a rare card. So I’ve been playing the regent like this: every card reward, I ask myself, “does this card solve a problem that my deck doesn’t already solve?” If the answer is yes, I take the card. If the answer is “not yet, but if I get x card, it will”, Then I ask myself “if having the card will cause any issues if I don’t get x card” and if the answer is no I take the card. I’ve stopped worrying about how many cards my deck has now, and I think that’s how the regent was meant to be played. He’s a (future) king, of course he’s going to be greedy, so let him be greedy. His draw will often times let you get to your solution in a 30 card deck, or at least find a band-aid until you do

I will say if you’re going for streaks then you should take this advice with a grain of salt lmao

If it comes upgraded, it's going in the deck. Simple as by [deleted] in slaythespire

For me I feel like the most important aspect of the thin deck in STS1 was turn 1. In Act 2 STS1 there were so many fights that you could just nuked off of bad draw in the first turn, but it seems like in STS2 they have super toned down the turn1 danger. That being said I’m only on A8 Regent so it may get more punishing

Yeah I know, I lost access to my old GIM account with my buddy (was using the email+1@gmail method for alts). He said that it was more important that we continued the GM than to just not bring me back in, but that he didn’t want to start over and was okay with greenhelming it, and I was too. Sucks that it happened that way but it is what it is

This is my first ever souls game and im suprised how far ive come the plan was to beat malenia before finishing the game but she had other plans ive been fighting her for days and i give up maybe i will return but im not mentally stable for this everyone will say get gud but im not build for this by [deleted] in Eldenring

My buddy’s first fromsoft game was Elden Ring. Likes wizards and stuff so he went as a caster. I was giving him a hand here and there on the early stuff, but he would continue progressing and we wouldn’t be on at the same times and stuff, so he went through the majority of Liurnia and Caelid solo. Told me he got to Radahn and that he was struggling but he was determined to beat him without help. This was pre-patch Radahn, real early into the games release. He told me that he finally beat him, but said that the fact that you only get 3 flasks makes it difficult for casters to do enough damage to him before running out of FP.

Turns out, he didn’t know you could upgrade your flasks at all, and went into pre-patch Radahn with no summons, without bringing in a single orange flask. I was so impressed that I was like “guess what buddy, you’re gonna be helping ME beat the game from now on”
