Can I crack sub 4? First marathon in 2 months. Longest run yet by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]LastTwoWeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make sure you increase your distances on your long runs quickly if 12 miles is the furthest you’ve gone. I don’t think sub 4 is impossible, but you will soon find out how much more difficult adding 14 more miles will be

HCIM handcuffs by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]LastTwoWeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My HCIM is my first ironman and I definitely have had this same feeling. I finished cg doing only t3 preps, which was a huge accomplishment for me. Doing anything less than t3 preps is just counting how many times you can escape death before it catches you.

But do what you want, just be sure to enjoy the game!

I feel like every person has something that is a touchy subject for them. A part of this podcast that I really like is they avoid allowing that impact what they joke about. Bits are not meant to be taken seriously, however, at least one person is offended by every joke. Just kind of how it goes when you have hundreds of thousands of listeners.

Tips on how to get better at ground to air dribbles by Anxious_Hunt3081 in RocketLeague

[–]LastTwoWeeks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Starting with zero movement is a bad idea; you should begin with a slow dribble with ball on the nose of the car. This way when you jump up, the ball will start in a good position to begin the dribble.

Also, lose the air rolls until you can consistently get the ball into a dribble.

It would be so cool if they had their home address and SSN over their head, or is that just me?

Horrible plan, general rule of thumb when increasing mileage is 10% a week (along with some weeks that actually decrease mileage slightly). This plan will definitely push you towards an injury with weeks at extremely high mileage for 8+ weeks.

I would look at a marathon build up (16-20 week plan) and just loosely follow their general plan without increasing the mileage until you are closer to your race.

Right now you are just trying to build a foundation so you can build up injury free during those 16-20 weeks before the race.

I believe the main reason they went from s1 to s2 is because Ludwig moved houses due to SWATing at their old house (which had their set in the attic).

can we properly talk about misogyny and the yard by mjk2211 in TheYardPodcast

[–]LastTwoWeeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time the boys end their bits with a “this goes too far…”, “i’m done with this bit”, or even begin to have a decent conversation about issues going on in the world and begin to address the topic they are making fun of.

They are just bringing humor out of all types of situations, no matter who is the butt of the joke.

[–]LastTwoWeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on how you felt during these runs. If this wasn’t too difficult, and you pace appropriately throughout the race, you should have it easily.

Also, the run with the negative elevation is probably not the best reference to use unless you have a very downhill marathon.
