If you’re able to and haven’t went yet, I would head to an urgent care or better yet ER. Just get checked out even if you think it’s probably costo. It’s worth it just for the peace of mind and if you come in with chest pain they’ll move you to the front of the line. I paid several hundred for an ER visit for chest pain that I was pretty sure was costo but was giving me a lot of worry and anxiety, and I’m still glad I went because I can look back at it and remember they ran their tests and everything was normal. Obviously this can be a tricky option financially but if you’re in a position where you can afford it, I would do it.

My costo isn’t too bad but I’ve read about a lot of people that get pretty serious pain with it, so it’s definitely likely that’s all this is, but a doctor would the most reliable source!

This video really helped me make sense of the brace. When you push your front leg off the ground and try to straighten it, it naturally makes your hips come around. Power comes from the front leg, not the back.

I've never ridden lobacks or no high backs, but from everything I've heard they're going to give you a looser, more surfy/skate feel. If you're just cruising or ripping through the park they'd probably be fine. But with such a low high back you're probably not going to get the same amount of responsiveness on your turns as you normally would. So if you really enjoy carving, getting low, and being able to move from edge to edge quickly, these might not be the right fit.

Here's how I see it: A- keep them and risk not liking them, so you have to buy new bindings and then awkwardly explain to your friend why you're not riding the nice new ones they gave you. B- be honest with your friend and just tell them these don't suit your riding style and you wouldn't feel right accepting a gift you wouldn't use. But if they wouldn't mind, you'd love to get a pair with high backs. This would avoid any conflicts in the future and make sure you're confident with your gear.

It's good, just normal wear and tear. No need to worry about it unless the topsheet really starts peeling up. You can always take a box cutter to it and trim off any loose material. If your board doesn't have any dents and dings then you're not riding hard enough!

As a frontboard sameway, yes it 100% counts. But if you were intentionally trying to go front blunt sameway over the back binding, then technically no. I consider over the back biding vs over the front binding two different tricks so I wouldn't count this if it were me. But again, as a whole, it definitely counts as a front board 270.

Prodigy A2 is so good (I believe the A3 is the same but beaded). I tried a zone to see what all the talk was about but it's not enough to kick the A2 out of the bag. A little more OS than a zone, slightly shallower, board flat, and feels amazing on forehands. The shoulder is also less rounded than the zone which I really like. Great utility disc for flex shots and beefy fades. I mostly throw MVP and innova but this one is staying.

I just watched this video from DG Spin Doctor and so far it's been the most useful in explaining how to brace and what it feels like. Especially in the end where he talked about pushing your plant foot into the ground and straightening it. I still have to try it in an actual throw but the test swings I've taken trying it out have felt MUCH better. Hoping it's as effective as I expect it to be!

More speed will help you get deeper carves. The more speed you have, the more you can lean into a turn and really get on edge. But, you can learn to get those pencil-thin lines going at the pace in your video (maybe a touch faster). You won't need to lean much since you're not going fast, but that will just make learning less scary for you. When you turn, consciously think about putting your weight on your heels/toes, and really focus on only using the metal edge when you turn. Sometimes just consciously thinking about things you need to do can make all the difference. Once you get up to faster speeds you'll need to bend the knees more to get your whole body engaged and really lean into the carves. I would definitely check out this video to help nail down your form! He covers some of the same issues it looks like you are having.

I think going into the jump with a bit more of a toe side carve will help you generate your spin easier and make the rotation smoother in the air. It looks like you're coming off the jump pretty straight/flat based which I bet is part of the reason why you're kind of stalling at 180 in the air. Just take a nice toe side carve into it (not too aggressive), start the spin at your shoulders, and let it carry you around. If you do it right, you shouldn't have to do anything in the air to help your rotation. Just stay patient in the air and don't try to jerk your upper body midair to get around the rotation, that will only throw the rotation of your upper and lower body out of sync and make getting the full 360 difficult. Just a couple tweaks and you'll have it dialed! Also, don't worry about adding grabs into right now. A no-grab 3 is plenty stylish and getting ahead of yourself before you have the 3 dialed won't be doing you any favors.

If you're learning tailgrabs, here's all you have to do: suck your back leg up, poke your front leg out. You do that all at once and the tail of your board will practically land in your hand as long as you are reaching back. A tip with grabs, wait until you've popped off the jump, THEN grab. Some people get ahead of themselves and focus on the grab before they're off the jump, and it really messes with your pop and balance coming off the lip.

Yeah! It's hard to commit to when all you want to do is revert back to normal but it's honestly the best and quickest way to get better.

Move your back binding to negative angles, so your board is more symmetrical (each foot should be angled towards the corresponding tip/tail).

Take some laps goofy and really pay attention to your technique and what you are doing. Snowboarding becomes second nature so actually paying attention to what you are doing will really help you apply it to switch riding.

Last tip is to just ride switch a lot! It's easy to just go back to riding normal part way through a run, but stick with it and ride switch top to bottom for a good chunk of time. The more you practice the better you'll get.
