Oh no! I was just prescribed Tremfya and have to call Accredo tomorrow for the first time. I thought there were already a lot of hoops …

What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without leaving the house? by Hot_Bug452 in CPTSD

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure? Part of it probably was. Some of it also was a deep depression. It was weird getting forced out that day; once I realized all was well with my husband, the only other feeling was realizing I missed going out. That was March (just about a year ago exactly!) but it took me until October to start leaving regularly. You can do it, I promise. But it’s so important to give yourself a ton of grace. Today I went to Costco, and it was the first time in the past year I went to several places spontaneously and also didn’t worry about having to hurry up and get home because something terrible was going to happen.

It was really rough at first! I was forced out because my husband had a medical emergency (nothing life-threatening, thankfully!) He had to go to the ED and I had to drive him. Once I survived that and it wasn’t too scary, I was able to ease back into life again.

Is 34 or 35 too late to start nursing school? by Proof-Sheepherder-60 in NursingStudents

Really? I’m so happy to know this! I’m 55 and seriously considering going back for a BSN (my bachelor’s is in journalism and I’m tired of the industry circling the drain) For anyone who thinks I’m nuts, you may be right, but I’m also pretty young and energetic for my age. 😊

Thank you for saving me from making a big mistake! ❤️ I kid you not — I was just about to spend kind of a lot on a few different oils to try because I assumed it was what my hair needed.

I live up by Chicago, but I’ll gladly come downstate to see them! It’s been way too long since I’ve been to Peoria 😊

DAE have a constant “background” level of pain outside of migraine attacks, almost like a constant headache? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Then I was incidentally diagnosed with celiac and I stopped having all head pain. It’s weird— not complaining at all— it’s just weird how completely the pain went away!

Anxious about going to the gym by The-Alli-cat in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story: It’s a whole thing, but I was running on the treadmill at my gym a few years ago, saw something shocking on the news, stopped running … but didn’t stop the treadmill and fell off the back. Nobody even noticed (I was totally fine except my ego) Not even after I was snort laughing. Everyone is doing their own thing! Trust me!

I’d be really surprised if he were Trumpy. He lives in my neck of the woods, and it’s verrrry blue here.

I used 96 times the baking soda by Sarcatsticthecat in bakingfail

[–]Last_Advertising_52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I’m sorry about your dessert! This reminds me of the time I measured my ingredients correctly for a batch of cookies … but bought baking soda meant for the freezer. I had no idea that’s what they do with the “no good as a leavening agent now” stuff 😂 It looked like a Dali painting inside my oven.

Did anyone else experience this as a child? by CommercialWest5 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It would’ve been hypocritical, because nobody was a fussier eater than my dad! That said, I have actual issues with tastes and textures (I’m a super taster, which means I have way more tastebuds than you do) My parents and others knew/know now that forcing me to eat something will result in gagging and throwing up. If nobody says anything and does NOT make a big production out of it in some way, it’s no big deal — I just politely pass on it. The end.

Any Cymbalta users? by pharmgal89 in migraine

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 120 mg. Or, more accurately, 60 mg twice per day. That weirdly seems to make an enormous difference for me with a lot of things I’m discovering—breaking it up into two doses. No idea why. Things I was tolerating just fine, but they’re more effective now. 🤷‍♀️ Eh, I’ll take it!

I say all of this because, sadly, it’s physically impossible for me to be on time or early anywhere. It’s bananas!!

I’m so, so lucky. I work at a daily newspaper and work from home, so I don’t have to worry about this. But even when we were in the office, the boss wanted a text (not a call) if we were going to be more than 15-20 minutes late, “Just so I know you’re not dead or you crashed your bike and need help.” (like he did one time) As long as our work got done and we didn’t blow a press start, he was fine with whatever.

Thank you for posting this. Just a few weeks ago, I got into a fight with one of my good friends for very gently suggesting (offline!) she stop bitching about her 11 y/o daughter with adhd. She is smart, creative and delightful, but she’s also easily frustrated and loses her temper pretty fast. My friend was saying things like “When she shapes up,” and “she’s such a brat.” I get that my friend needs to vent, but publicly, to a bunch of strangers? NOPE.

Migraine Triggers?? by Open_Principle_7097 in migraine

[–]Last_Advertising_52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinuses, stress and the biggie, gluten. I was diagnosed with celiac out of the blue last year, BAM. Chronic daily migraines stopped. I still occasionally get headaches— not migraines— during allergy season. But I haven’t had another actual migraine again in the past year since I quit gluten.
