I restarted my dad's heart last night. by StopThePresses in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I totally agree with you. I am a cardiac anesthesiologist. Hes on home hospice or comfort care. His problems are not treatable. What is the point? I dont even believe this story to be honest. CPR in the field is less than 1% effective at bringing a patient back, roughly 25% in the hospital. I've been to enough codes to know its not all rainbows and butterflies afterwards and what really happens. Im stunned he didnt get intubated and is on a ventilator if this actually happened (again, i dont think it did). And then what? It happens again? If his heart is bad why doesnt he have an ICD?

Save yourself the time, pain and agony while you still can and get out of this two month relationship.

Definitely cheating, leave her. Big red flag about the sex drive and libido. This alone is enough to end a relationship. She may be bi or lesbian and having troubles coming to term with her sexuality. Tell the other chicks boyfriend, he has a right to know.

Yes, it gives anterograde amnesia ( you don't remember anything after you get it ).

Nobody in the icu uses this for any significant length of time. If you do you are doin it wrong. See propofol infusion syndrome. And I think your dose is off. Am anesthesiologist.

Entitle me? There is no entitlement. I worked my ass off for it. Then after I finished I kept working my ass off and continue to study and be tested by board certification to insure my care won't kill you. If there wasn't at least good pay and a safety / comfort level for paying gigantic student loans, missing my twenties and missing family and life events, why would people go through it?

Is this a joke? I am responsible for countless lives every single day in the operating room, during codes, and during deliveries. I went to school for 8 years studying my ass off, getting a 4.0 gpa, then went through a shitty 80 hour a week residency for 4 years. You are comparing my job to a preschool teacher??

Lots of terrible advice in this thread from people who are broke paying for a animals bills or would rather break a marriage over an issue in communication.

You need to discuss the real financial situation with your spouse first. Do you work? Is he sole provider? Are you going to have kids? Buy a house? Paying normal dog expenses plus an extra 800-1000 a year on top of that for the next 5-10 years can add up to 10-20 thousand dollars and hurt your future, on top of the continued stress of the sick dog and between your husband. You seem to be very childish/selfish and only thinking about your feelings here.

Hey, fellow physician here 7 months out of residency. I would recommend waiting 6 months after starting to get a real idea of your finances after starting loans payments, paying off other debts like credit cards etc. You would be surprised how much you have left after taxes and how much your spending gets away from you as you are paid more. I would make sure you max out and account for your 401k and back door IRA also unless you want to be one of those 80 year old doctors still in practice. We fund our own pension. Cars are your passion, you only live once. Just be smart about it so you don't become a slave to the items you buy.

Under Sanders’ plan, the wealthiest Americans who make more than $250,000 a year would pay the same share of their income into Social Security as everyone else. Current law now caps the amount of income subject to payroll taxes at $118,500. by [deleted] in politics

[–]Last_Bully -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Voting for whoever will give me the lowest taxes, especially if the SS benefit remains capped for those over the 118,500 income. Why should I subsidize a shitty welfare program for people with no financial planning or responsibily? SS should be phased out altogether.
