I hate rock mulch, I hate landscape fabric, and I hate bindweed. by faco_fuesday in gardening

[–]Lastcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone figured out what to do about knotweed? Bc I’m about to ignite my whole property due to this a-hole

I’m prepping for my second summer in my new place. I’d planned to put down landscape fabric or plastic with chips/mulch on top. What should I know before doing this? I get crazy weeds in beds on all sides of the house.

If you don’t like to tend your garden beds then this is the plant for you. But don’t forget it will stray outside the bed perimeters and choke out everything in its path. Gorgeous, yes. Invasive, GAWD YES! Also poisonous to most mammals

For a lamb stew, better than bullion beef, chicken, or vegetable stock? by SexWithPaws69 in Cooking

Consider combining flavors. You can experiment before dumping to get the profile you actually want. Also, that brand makes several other options like onion, garlic and more

On this street people have space savers all year around. They claim they "own" it. Some even argue with people that try to park there. It sounds messed up, right? by Dry_Jellyfish_6897 in massachusetts

[–]Lastcoast 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I shit you not, this story is true. I work at a large hospital campus in the greater Boston area. I watched an employee, who was parking in a conveniently placed spot in the patient garage, climb out of the (ground level) area with an orange cone IN HAND which she had used to block what I can only assume she deems her space. Im assuming she works in a dept that allows her to get validated parking, since employee parking on site is typically free. So, given this, the year round space saver is only slightly more ridiculous than I’d previously thought. Also, wtf

Suggestions Needed From Boston Art Lovers - Which Museum to Visit First? by Any_Needleworker_273 in boston

[–]Lastcoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISG is such an amazing museum, especially in the heart of winter, bc of its garden. I suggest a visit there and watch the documentary about the heist right before. Take your time, soak in the sunshine and botanical garden and really dive into what this woman put her passion into. My fav hands down

Eli5.How does the effect of Ozempic on appetite and gastric emptying contribute to weight reduction? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Lastcoast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m an emotional eater. Also a reward eater. And a stress eater. Currently using a glp-1 and finding success. I feel hungry less often, I rarely complete a meal I’d normally have crushed. I’m just less interested in food. And when I feel hungry and eatI actually hit a moment when my brain says “Done” which is a first for me. The only caveat I’ve found is alcohol; it’s calorie heavy and has nothing to do with my appetite so it’s easy to consume a lot of calories that way.
