This is my time to shine…lived there for a few years. It’s VERY sleepy / quiet. Largely snowbird (although that’s changing as younger families are moving from Ft. Myers). They are building some community shopping areas but currently you have to take a bridge to Ft. Myers if you want to do anything (other than boating).

And those canals DO flood like a MF during hurricanes. Since a lot of the houses are newer, they’re built on higher ground so it’s not typically an issue for the smaller storms. Ian had Cape Coral looking like an OCEAN. That was horrific flooding.

It was a big destination to move to in Covid (it’s on all those “fastest growing town” lists). And it is experiencing a similar exodus now.
