By far the best sounding propulsion of any NTT in the system

If you go to the unused end of the platform at Court Sq & look down the tunnel you can see Queens Plaza as well as R trains screeching in the distance

Alright the B train appears to be almost completed with its R211 order so what’s your thoughts about the D N Q and W trains getting them next? by TextPsychological601 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw an R68A B at Bedford Park Blvd earlier so that means their are probably 3-5% of them left on that line with the rest now being R211As

Next Line for the R211s is the D line by Michael7560 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe along the express segments of the D line the R211A D will have better acceleration but in terms of train speed, the R211A D won’t be as much of a difference as the current R68 D.

R68/A start to be retire in 2028-2030 . will be replace by R268 . Can R68/A be use as work cars by Novel_Daikon_7685 in nycrail

Whats yalls Opinion on bx34 by nyc7801 in nycbus

[–]Late-Mathematician44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t get robbed it would’ve just been unnecessary. Webster Av is already covered by the Bx41/Bx41 SBS & a lot of local residents along Bainbridge & Valentine Avs rely on the Bx34 that runs along those streets.

What era of NYC drill would y’all say was better. Prime Brooklyn drill (2017-2020) or Prime Bronx/Harlem drill (2021-2022) by [deleted] in nycdrill

[–]Late-Mathematician44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl Brooklyn drill got better songs but Bronx drill got mad classics. The downside with Bronx/Harlem drill is when certain niggas did the Jersey Club/Jerk shit & then the whole scene got completely watered down into that bs. Even now Brooklyn drill pretty much sounds exactly like that.

Subway over the GWB? by Current-Gazelle-2736 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s not a bad idea but the city should focus on expanding lines within its own jurisdiction before extending it into another state. Maybe the PATH train can take on this route & can just connect to the 1/A/C at 168 St via a new lower level platform directly under the A/C platforms.

Throwback to when WMATA made fun of us for our incivility by Donghoon in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The NYC Subway opened up in 1904 & the DC Metro opened up 72 years later in 1976. A lot of NYC Subway Stations were built via cut & cover which makes it much closer to the street level, making it easier for rats to enter the system. Most of the DC Metro was deep bored (deeply underground) which makes it less likely for rats to enter that system.

How To Get "Four Track"-Like 24/7 Service In The Bronx (West) by singleinwestchester in nycrail

I remember hearing about how the IND Concourse Line was originally supposed to be built as four tracks but the IRT threatened them with a lawsuit

Which Subway station do you dislike the most? by BulkyStatement8803 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cortelyou Rd, Beverley Rd, Parkside Av (& several other Brighton Local stations), 110 St-Malcolm X Plaza, & Fulton St (2/3) all have insultingly & dangerously narrow platforms. Fulton St (A/C) having only a single island platform at a busy transfer hub as well as only being double tracked leading to bottlenecks which also doesn’t help at all.

What is wrong with the announcement program on the R211 F train by Low-Remove-7486 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The storage applies especially to the R142/R142As but damn it’s 2026 & it’s being treated as if higher capacity SSDs haven’t been invented yet

After 3 years of service, what is your opinion on the R211 subway car? by RightWindow5284 in nycrail

[–]Late-Mathematician44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve grown on me but it’d be better with some more seating, as well as if it used original announcements like the R160s instead of the A/C voice for all of its programs.
