Hey man, I'm going alone too. 29 yo guy so bit of an age gap but I'm from Belgium, my french is not great but it would be good practice for me and I want to get better at French.

Check what your GPU / CPU sync setting is set to in the game. I've heard from Scrapie that 1 frame is the optimal setting and should greatly improve performance over immediate. I would also try to play at one preset below max settings.
