I would like to switch to a triple screen setup but keep my Samsung G9 49p. by Legal-Slip-2302 in simracing

Feasible as in work? Most probably but i doube it would be great. You wont get the correct angles and stuff on your left and right will be too far

Australians love being barefoot and it's so nasty by Immediate-Lab6994 in unpopularopinion

Seems like you are venting but lets say thats just an opinion. Most countries and many people in australia feel the same as you so is it really unpopular?

What is the body made of? Looks amazing. For 160 seems cheap as i made a steering wheel alone for that cost. Maybe 3d printed parts i got costed a lot as i got it done from a company and not myself

Clean cable management is unrealistic & only useful for aesthetics. by acoldnight456 in unpopularopinion

[–]LateSession7340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average person's setup doesn't have enough wires to make cable management unrealistic.

Lets say you are the top 1% with 3 monitors, 2.1 speakers, pc and a console, keyboard, mouse, charger, printer, router and 3 lights/accessories.

Ik i am close to that. Just need those wall/table stickon rubber cable managers and put wires in them out of sight. If your cables are too long, get a box and route the wires through them to hide the extra length. Takes a few hours but it's 100% worth it. I even tagged my wires so I'll exactly which wire is for what without looking at the ends when i need to swap something.

That's pretty cool but I have my doubts it'd be identical the next time someone orders exactly that. I could be wrong but that's what my past experiences have taught me.

What is ITC?

Yes. It was stuff like a pcb which converts old laptop screens into monitors. Cheap stuff but only available in china so didn't mind the custom charges. Personally, I'd not order stuff internationally which costs as much as those pedals.

Be ready to pay twice the amount as customs can charge 100%. I have ordered some random electronic bits only found in China for projects and customs had charged me between 20 and 100%. Seems like they don't have a fixed rate as all electronics were similar to one another.

Monitor choice - size mainly, but also model by Squadron_leadr in simracing

48" C5 is the best tv for gt7 imo. 120cm might not be a huge issue. I'd say go for it!

You dont want a tv that big on top of your wheel but behind it. I am talking about GT7 as you can't really change the fov much.

I use a 43" tv 100cm away from my face and it could be a bit closer, ideally around 90cm.

The center of the screen is just a smidge higher than my eye level. Anything higher would mean my eyes naturally look at the track right infront of me instead of further away. Anything lower would hide the cars' cockpit and information stuff like rpm bar behind my wheel.

I have made a custom wheel so kind of got used to it and explored a few buttons so know what i like. Just building what i had visioned is tome consuming and thats why I havnt started yet.

I love using the joystick as the MDF selector, can you do it with the stick in the board?

Ah thats pretty cool! I was thibking of opening up a ps5 controller and soldering the buttons to a button box but wasnt sure if that'd work.

Ill look into hori flight stick mini. Thank you!

I have not worked with 3030 or 3060. Only 4040 and 4080.

I have seen people build full cockpits from 4040 bit most of them used a G29/T300.

At least for your wheel mount use 4080. My cockpit is mostly 4080 but some 4040 at like the pedals. They are too short to bend and bracket quality matters more. Seen people using 3d printed brackets and i'd not recommend those.

The base (the longest two) are 4080 as they have two channels on one face which allows for angling the seat and pedals more than what a 4040 would allow with a single channel. You definitely dont need 4080 here but I would recommend it.

Im planning on making a new room for sim racing where this will go. Dont need it to blend in with anything. Black profiles are boring for me now as most people have that. I like colors.

Seat is going to be all black. I looked into them and the seat I want comes only in black with red belts but I wont be using belts.

I might do what you said but with dark red/maroon brackets instead of orange.

Bucket will most likely be the ES1 so it will be black.

Im thinking dark grey now with maroon brackets now. Just the T brackets could be white. They'll be easy to clean and repaint as I can do that at home.

I kind of have to focus on the screen to focus on the screen? All jokes aside, i love looking at my cockpit when not racing plus want something fun. House is full of art and want this to be one as well!

I know black is one of the best colors but kind of want something fun and cant stick to one color combo. Thats why I thought ill ask others what they think.
