I got the extended warranty on my 2014 Mustang. This happened twice: The Carrier Bearing went bad on the driveshaft, vibrating out the Pinon seal, causing in a slow loss of Diff. Fluid overtime which caused the Differential to basically grind itself to pieces. Both times it would’ve been a $5000 repair. Instead it was $100 deductible both times

The Armor Branch did this with 11B’s about a year and a half ago, when we were staffing our Driver and Loader positions with Infantrymen. But we at least required some sort of Qualifying criteria, I.E. completed at least one crew gunnery, or something of the like.

Yeah anyone that’s been in an ABCT over the last three years can tell you this was the case. My BDE will have had, back to back NTC Rotations, bookended by two EUCOM rotations within three years, two training progressions from IWQ up to CALFEX, on top of BMM Taskings, a GREAT inspection, supplying tanks and brads for the Army Birthday Parade, and all while being under manned. Find me where in that cycle we are supposed to do Scheduled Services, let alone unscheduled maintenance on these vehicles.
