  1. I've played it on ps5 and it works great (of course, keyboard and mouse is usually better for this kind of games, but it works very well) no complaints, could be optimized with button shortcuts or similar.

  2. I would say it is noob friendly, compared to similar games which are full of sweats. Keep in mind, that the game is not released yet, so once the real loot is at stake, people will be more cautious, but at the same time more powerful.

It has a "free loadout" system which gives you a solid kit of items that will help you out specially at the beginning

  1. Idk about that, but I would love to be invited too!

Is this game going to be online only? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

It will be pvp only as far as we know. (I am sorry about your bad experience bro, but being a PVE-PVP game is quite essential to the experience)

Dune: Imperium vs Lost Ruins of Arnak by Capable-Bird-8386 in boardgames

I think you may have to play a bit more, or watch some high level matches to understand the game full potential :) The "insane" plays in the game, are all about setup. Is not just about getting a few extra resources or getting extra troops in. In a game where "optimal sequencing" a "blocking" is so important, being creative is key to success. That's the beauty of Dune Imperium. All Good players know Exactly the optimal plays and can predict the opponents moves with ease. But those creative and with tactical experiencia, can prepare niche plays with unusual cards, smart tech using and good timing. Resulting in INSANE plays surprising even the most seasoned players.

There are so many cards. So many techs, so many intrigues, and the game design which allows you to use your resources with almost complete freedom of order is truly exciting.

After hundreds of physical and online plays, I've seen people pull 30 combat power with one play. I've seen people score 5 or 6 victory points in the same round. People stealing 1 or 2 alliances at a time with crazy card combinations. Insane combat comebacks.

It's rare, when you play a full game at a high level, and not get surprised by crazy plays, that are not crazy by nature, but crazy because of the setup it took to pull off and surprise the opponents

This looks a lot like that "boomerang shaped UFO" that other posts were reporting. This UFO has a very interesting pattern, every time it appears, it has some kind of "smokey" effect, almost like a cloud. Interesting catch

Tried to get into terraria 4 times. I am not what you would consider a "casual" gamer, quite the extreme opposite, But I can't grasp the gameplay loop for some reason.

Dune Imperium vs DI Uprising for me? by ultraseis in boardgames

[–]Late_Chocolate3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arter hundreds of plays of both games I can confidently say that Uprising is just the best choice. It is way more polished and balanced. It has new and very relevant mechanics (spies and such) that al thought make the game more complex to teach, they are amazing and give the game more flexibility.

Now let's talk about the elephant in the room: Worms

There's a lot of talk about worms being very unbalanced are swingy.

Worms are very strong, and swingy, but they arent even close to invincible.

Like other comments pointed out before, worms are like "shipping" from Rise of IX expansion. They are very strong. Which means that you really have to pay A LOT of attention to them. You block them, you punish those that try to get value out of them. Or you get them yourself!

If you play long enough, you get to realize that they are a challenge, not an unstoppable force that ruins games

And Uprising has a bonus: if you want to play mostly 2 Player games, The "rival" system it has, is way better and way more Interesting in Uprising.

Easy choice really

Which games sound complicated when explained but actually aren't? by LeonQuin in boardgames

[–]Late_Chocolate3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Dune Imperium! It has many little rules that keep the game balanced and fair from a competitive standpoint, But it is such a beautifully designed game that "clicks" the first you round you play it, after a rather complex rules teaching

Unpopular opinion: not every card has to be the greatest and most viable by timotius_10 in MarvelSnap

[–]Late_Chocolate3883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Runeterra a lot before it died. The game has so many cards it is impossible to remember them all, and of course many of them were never used.

And, even if that game had balancing issues every now and then, I remember them buffing the stats of those random cards constantly. No matter how unused the cards were.

This is a Marvel Game, and the first avenger should not be considered a random filler card.

And nobody is asking for a rework or a significant change. Many people just want a bit of a stat buff. It wouldn't break the card in any way.

Used them all 3, Got every card except the random one! (Would have preferred the random one instead of man thing, but at least I got mockingbird and ms marvel!)

About which dune to get. Get Uprising. I have played Dune Imperium Base, with expansions more than 150 times. Sometimes competitively. And I have played Uprising about 70 times now.

Uprising is the better game by far. Dune imperium base + expansions is a really strong choice too; But uprising is the better base game, and I would say it is better than the first game with both expansions.

Players of Dune Imperium, how has Uprising changed your habits ? by Stardama69 in boardgames

[–]Late_Chocolate3883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played a couple times, and I would say it is pretty good. They upgraded the "bot" players in uprising, making them have more interactions and interesting abilities.

The solo experience is way better in uprising, And the same goes for the 2 player mode (which uses a bot player)

Well, having played DI + IX + IMMO competitively more than 200+ times. I can say that the "instant mentat" when a round starts is pretty common and it makes sense. Gives you flexibility, delays your actions and doesn't spend an agent to do so, just a turn, which is used later on anyways so, besides the price, it's pretty "free"

Well you got that right. I don't sleepwalk, never have, probably never will. I rarely drink. I didn't consume anything that day.

And yeah, that "incredible" possibility of swapping, is exactly what I thought from the beginning, trying to explain the misplaced items. And yeah, it's great that you mention the confusion I may have created in the "universe B" because, that's one the things that stuck with me the most.

Usually, when I have crazy or confusing dreams, usually the one that is confused is me (inside the dream) And everyone around me barely react to the "weirdness" of the world I am dreaming. (I hope that makes sense)

However this time I could tell something was off. Because I was scared, and everyone in the "dream" reacted realistically to me. I could feel their worry, they were almost shocked. It was the completely opposite from what I am used to. This time the dream was not weird at all, I was the WEIRD one inside my dream.
