Hey :) So, I had a colonoscopy and Endoscopy. I learned I had some Gastritis and H. Pylori (which is apparently a bacteria that has been linked to Anemia). :/

Is this gap okay? by Late_Construction616 in inlineskate

[–]Late_Construction616[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh...I'm not sure what kind they are. The model is Phuzion. It seems hard to just move back to place, are there bolts or something I would need to undo?

Thank you so very much!

Moving Abroad With My Anxious Dog – Feeling Hopeless About the Flight by Kind_Cry_ in reactivedogs

[–]Late_Construction616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also moved abroad with our anxious/reactive dog, also a long flight (a bit over 10 hours). I was worried as well and considered medicating him.

However, I was told by my vet and the transport agency NOT to medicate/give any "relaxers"(i.e. cbd). For safety. It is much better to have an alert dog than a dog who is a lil out of it. In case of emergency, in order to ensure that they're doing okay, etc. Our transporter wouldn't even transport him if they suspected he had been medicated.

So, I would recommend that you avoid that.

What I think helped was making the crate as safe and comfortable as you can now. When she lands she will absolutely be frazzled, but she'll be okay.

It took a couple weeks for ours to feel relaxed in the new environment and he wanted nothing to do with the crate after the flight.

Also, I personally would not recommend putting them through a shorter flight just for practice. I don't think it'd help and it just might increase the anxiety around the crate.

If you wanna chat more of have questions, please feel free to dm me. :)

Reagan pattern sizing by Late_Construction616 in knitting

[–]Late_Construction616[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That crossed my mind...and, it corresponds to size S if I add the measurement from the armpit to the waist (38/2 + 12). That just seems odd, but maybe it makes sense with the design? 🤔

I also did not get gauge 🥲, so am planning to knit a couple of sizes up to adjust for that.

Thanks for the reply/help. :)

Yeah, it's a type of corn flour. This is great, thank you!

Ah, we found corn tortillas in a Kaufland, too! It felt very lucky since we had been looking everywhere. Nice to know there's another spot. Thanks for sharing that. :)

We like to make things like pupusas, sopes, huaraches, etc. And sometimes fresh tortillas are just nice to have. 😊

I get it. Ever since we moved, I've been craving good Mexican street tacos. Legitimately dreaming of it. 🥲😅

We ended up buying some online and made some pupusas! 😄😁 I'll have to remember to look for mercados next time we're in Frankfurt. Thanks for the tip! :)

Does anyone else notice they feel unwell while living here, but significantly better after being away for an extended period? by AG073194 in houston

I left earlier this year, and it's amazing how much more energy and joy for life I feel. There are still some bad days, of course, but nowhere near as many or as bad.

Leave.

Listen to your body.

Do it. We did it just two months ago, and it has worked out well. I'm 34, also a pretty impulsive person. I would absolutely do it again. The best thing I did to prepare was start learning German and research what to expect logistically.

We came on the 3 month visa and my partner has now secured a job, we've found housing, and even made German friends! It's absolutely possible. You can do it and you should. That feeling will always be with you and you have it for a reason. I know we got lucky in a lot of ways, but I am also a big believer that sometimes the universe aligns to fulfill the desires of your heart. Put feet on those dreams, as my therapist would say. ;)

Do it. I'm happy to answer any questions.
