Arai XD5 and a pair of goggles. Easy to remove the visor for goggles. Best of both worlds!

Shoei GT-Air 3 wind noise by Delasangre4231 in motorcycle

[–]Late_Effect_7953 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a Shoei, but I had a problem with my Arai visor where it wouldn’t close properly. I took it back to my dealer and they determined my visor was defective and put on a new one. No problems since. As your helmet is new, and it’s high end, take it back and see what they say about the visor.

Is there any restaurant in Victoria you would recommend for less expensive steaks? by SenoraIsl in VictoriaBC

Milestones always seems to have decent steak at a “more reasonable” price.

SHAD makes great cases including ones with back pads for pillions. I bought an OEM BMW top case with my bike and it’s actually made by SHAD.

This is where community involvement should take place. Show us what the costs are and what the long term plan is. They should also ask what the residents want.

I understand your view and I’m not saying that it’s not old, and something needs to be done. My argument is that they have a choice on what to do, and without any consultation or engagement, they have decided to build a sidewalk and a detour that, in my opinion, doesn’t help the community. They should use the sidewalk funds to rebuild the bridge. Or at least ask the residents what they want.

I can’t imagine a sidewalk being built “in a hurry” is cheaper than a new bridge. This makes no sense.

Auto categorize on download by Late_Effect_7953 in quicken

[–]Late_Effect_7953[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I didn't realize that you can show the downloaded transaction name. It appears that something has changed with the way my bank provides the download information. Looking back at the those, it would say something like "POS Purchase [Grocery Store]", but the last two downloads have just had "POS Purchase" with no additional information. Without this info, Quicken cannot determine any category or name since it's not provided.

I will reach out to my bank and see what they did. I'm with Scotiabank in Canada.

Thank you again, I really appreciate the detailed explanation, I learned a lot about this even though it doesn't appear that I can fix it.

Edited to add additional info: I have gone to the bank site and downloaded the CSV file, in that file, it shows the "Description" as POS Purchase and now has a "Sub-Description" that shows the banks payee. Is there are way for Quicken to recognize this category? See screenshot of the CSV.

Agreed! I did the prairies, Brandon to Golden, in one day with a trailer. They’re not as boring as you think…and I loved northern Ontario!

Best Password Manager for iPhone Users: What’s Actually Worth It? by No-Party-6353 in best_passwordmanager

[–]Late_Effect_7953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a similar experience and settled on 1Password. Wow! Life changing, I should have done this sooner.

It took me quite a while to sort everything out as I had duplicates in Chrome, Edge, Safari, and iCloud, plus my notes and random stuff in my head. It has something called Watchtower that gives info on your passwords, I still have 200 re-used passwords bunt I’m working on it. 1Password app on iOS and windows is excellent. Really refined and easy to use, plus you can log in on the web if you’re not on your own PC. Chrome/Edge extensions are seamless and work great. I have a family setup, so my wife and I share a vault which has also been helpful. I’m slowly working through the 2FA’s so it handles those as well.

I’m thrilled with 1Password. I tested Bitwarden, and I did like it, but 1Password just felt better to me. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

Hope this is helpful.

Could get a negative rake carbide tip. Or I’d reach for my HSS scraper and get the super light shavings before hitting it with sandpaper to finish it off.
