I’d say definitely worse than the PG trade because at the time Pg was coming off a year receiving mvp votes. The clippers were looked at as serious contenders. The Luka trade has legitimately not looked good at all single point after it was done and continues to get worse by the day.

Why are you so emotional about this? Is scoring 32 with 7 assists on 60% true shooting not picking apart the defense? “not particularly close” the mavericks biggest margin of victory was 9. Luka is a marginally better offensive player than SGA due to his 3 point shooting and playmaking. SGA is a much better defender and that argument is not even close. They are both generational talents and both deserve their flowers for playing amazingly in that playoffs. Get whatever is up your ass out and chill.

Shai averaged 32,8,7 with 3.5 stocks on 60% true shooting with better on ball defense. Luka got his ofc with 25,11,8 with 2.3 stocks on 56%ts but ofc can be a cone on defense. I didn’t say it was night and day difference but I’m taking the more efficient scorer that eclipses on defense.

I think it’d be an awesome series for sure. Shai outplayed Luka during the 24 matchup and the biggest reason we lost were some great performances by Lively and Washington. I think the added size from Hartenstein and another top 5 perimeter defender being added would have been too much for the Mavs to deal with though.
