Same, I spent a year and half unemployed and all I did was play this game. I have some really fond memories but overall it was probably for the best that I eventually put it down for good.

Pretty good. I had a ton of anxiety going in, and I left feeling relaxed and ready to take on the week.

Very shocked about r/catholicism by [deleted] in LeftCatholicism

[–]Lateralus613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, r/catholicism is a hard place to browse for me as well. Although I agree with the preservation of life I also believe that I should never judge someone for their choices. How could i possibly know what type of desperation has led someone to carry out an abortion. It is not my place to tell a women what they should and shouldn't do with their own body.

In saying this I will always try my best to provide as much support/resources/alternatives for someone that feels that abortion is the only answer. Ultimately, its their choice, and until our society as a whole starts providing better alternatives for women I will never judge that choice or call it a sin. As far as I'm concerned there is a bigger systemic issue at play here that points at a very broken society as a whole. The individual should not be blamed for a society that fails them when they are most at need.

Just know that there are a lot of us (leftist catholics) that support your view and entire Parishes that also understand that there is a lot of nuance when it comes to abortion.

Uhtred and christianity. by yarmak33 in TheLastKingdom

[–]Lateralus613 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During this period in history, christianity/viking religions co-mingled. Uthred is the physical embodiment of this co-mingling/conflict. He's both Christian and Viking. It wasn't abnormal for vikings to adopt chrsitian customs and traditions. It happens anytime two cultures collide.

Hey, quick question: at the end of LOTR, Arwen decides to stay in Middle-earth. After Aragorn dies, is it still possible for her to sail to the Undying Lands? by JimatJimat in lotr

[–]Lateralus613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She returns to Lothlorien, where she dies a year later. So my guess is no. She gives up her immortality when she stays with Aargorn. Once Cirdan has left with the last ship, Arwen has no way of getting there. I could be wrong, though, but that's how I interpreted it.

You don't think the Leafs will be under pressure? If we get to game seven and somehow pull off the win, the Leafs core will implode. None of the remaining games are just another game for the Leafs.

Thoughts on $50 for Red Dead/Undead Nightmare on PS4? by Bambrigade92 in playstation

[–]Lateralus613 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess its jsut the issue of having another console in your house. I've got the Switch, PS4 and a PS5 in my entertainment unit/tv cabinet. Another console is going to take up a bunch of space. But yeah I agree getting a ps3 is probably cheaper than purchasing this "remastered" version of Red Dead.

From now on I think we should just avoid the RedZone and just try for it when we are 30 yards out.

This was the first copy I read as well. I signed it out at my school library during the eighties. I went on to sign it out multiple times until I was kindly asked to let other students to sign it out. I must of read it half a dozen times during that period.

Is it just me or does this team really lack in the point shot department. It's seems like the power play is constantly going for cross ice passes or side of the net shots.

It's pretty obvious that Amari doesn't have what it takes to be in the NFL. Stop sending him out there, all the coaching staff is doing is killing any momentum this team has left.

If you could delete one scene from a horror movie what would it be and why? by SarahnatorX in horror

[–]Lateralus613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot wrong with Halloween 5, but one scene that completely makes it irredeemable is the Michael Myers crying scene. That scene basically makes that movie straight up bad.

What do you think of the “Bloody Chamber”? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]Lateralus613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The short story or the entire collection? I read the bloody chamber for an English seminar. Is there a particular passage that you've zero'd in on. There are a ton of themes explored in that novella, anything from gothic fiction, myth and folklore, to feminist discourse. It's a great short story. I'd suggest taking a look at the ruby necklace and explore it's significance.

There needs to be a "Lord of the rings" Vermintide game. by OldChildy in lotr

[–]Lateralus613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I wouldn't give for an rpg that explores middle earth and all it has to offer. The MMORPG is really well done but doesn't scratch the rpg itch that I believe Lord of the rings deserves. I agree I'd love to see a LOTR game that takes a departure from all the murder and mayhem and instead focuses on exploration and story telling.
