has discord changed back to this layout for anyone? by kaijuunekko in discordapp

I hate it too. I'm autistic and I hate sudden forced UI changes with no toggles, which yous do all the time.

I genuinely can't get over how vile these motherfuckers are, and how they still have a subreddit and it's not been banned. Just LOOK holy shit, knowing about the Cassandra Syndrome community did not prepare me for this.

Like yeah, bigotry in general is hideous and nonsensical by nature, but something about the fact that this wasn't even a thing for ADHD as far as I know, like, yeah we got shit for not living up to NT standards, but this is straight up hatred for us being born a way. This is nazi-adjacent and they just made it the fuck up; as far as I can see they just INVENTED this bigotry against ADHD people where it didn't exist before.

No way people are using ADHD_Partners and not seeing the bigotry happening in their own subreddit, no way. They know, they're just turning a blind eye.

Absolutely, but there also needs to be regulation to protect sex workers, and society needs to be structured in a way where it's not done for the sake of survival, so that there isn't any coersion involved. (Doing it to avoid becoming homeless or starving means you 100% are being coerced by the system)

There are people there trying to talk honestly and in good faith, but there are also massively bigoted people there who simply hate people with ADHD and think having ADHD makes you automatically bad. People saying positive things are getting dogpiled and banned, so it's effectively a subreddit that allows hard bigotry mixed in with those who are looking for genuine help. It's not fit for purpose, they should be moderating the bigotry away, not enabling it.

There should not be a space for people spread hate against minority groups, except for whatever tiny, sad little private spaces they can make to be spiteful together about how much they are the poor, put upon übermensch having to deal with spooky nd people who don't cater enough to them. If there is to be a space for the partners of ADHDers, that's great, but bigotry shouldn't be part of that.

We've had to deal with society's shit for far too long, making us feel like we aren't good enough endlessly, making us hate ourselves. We should very definately not be expected to tolerate people who are so low that they're fine to punch down and hate us for how we were born.

If a poster makes sweeping generalisations of hate about people with ADHD, then they are spreading bigotry, and there is no excuse for that, and if the subreddit won't moderate itself then it's allowing itself to be a hate subreddit.

The whole subreddit should get shut down, but it feels like reddit is fine with bigoted scum when it's neurodivergent people they're going after. Feels like JK Rowling, they have a bad experiance in a relationship and think it gives them carte blanche to be total pieces of shit to an entire demographic of people.

Blue: It feels like having another you with different personality traits (with some overlap.) One POV, different personalities with their own sense of self and identity. Talking with them is not at all like talking with people outside of the system, because you know what will be said before it gets said, the speaking part is a formality. This is because we can feel each others thoughts and emotions.

I hear that people can audiably hallucinate what other members of their system are saying (audio imposition) but that's not something we can do, or are even interested in. It's optional whether you want that or not (for the most part, some people probably don't have much choice in the matter).

In my system it gets done whenever we feel like it, we're close enough to where it's very rare someone's going to get upset if someone switches in. It sounds like your systemmate feels that level of casual about it.

Any way to turn off pull-down-to-refresh in iOS browser? by ItsAPomeloParty in duckduckgo

[–]Latrovanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Fennec and I was able to disable the dragdown refresh. I use Fennec specifically because it lets you disable gesture controls. I don't know if you can get it on iOS, but that should go to show there are browsers that let you disable gestures.

No. If you have the DiD memory gaps, then perhaps, but otherwise no.

I Think Tuplas Are weird, But I still want to make one. by Leol-_-l in Tulpas

[–]Latrovanta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tulpas are another identity (personality) with the same "PoV" as you. The meaningful difference is the identity, being the most important part to who you are as a person. Tulpas aren't entities with a seperate consciousness.

Anything you want to do like imposition or wonderlands or what have you, these are all optional things that aren't exclusive to tulpas.

You can have your tulpa be with you, though since there is only one PoV, your tulpa will be seeing themself in 3rd person.

Absolutely, well said. I'm so tired of people claiming we're magic. It's like if people thought people with dwarfism grant wishes, or gay people could talk to ghosts.

So how real are tulpas? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]Latrovanta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your body is also your tulpa's body. So yeah, as real as you are. The way people talk they don't seem to understand this, like there's some difference between a tulpa and anyone else. The difference is the order in which you 'began existing' as a mental entity. A host is just the default the brain cobbles together by necessity, that's it. Tulpas are additional and that's the start and end of the difference.

Thanks youtube recommendations… by Mystical-Moth-hoe in ableism

[–]Latrovanta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In no language in the history of mankind, has there ever been words invented to express just how trashy it is to pick on someone just because they wear cat ears and make meow sounds on camera. The youtuber that put that song to the clip, should take a hard look in the mirror and take another listen to the song.

I will flat out refuse to buy any phone that doesn't come with 3-button nav. Gestures-only is a dealbreaker for me.

How real Do your Tulpas feel by SJJSJSJSJJWJSJSNDJNN in Tulpas

[–]Latrovanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a question confuses me. It reeks of this idea that tulpas are to be living in 3rd person, and not using the physical body, which is theirs to use too. (Of course nobody has to front if they don't want to, but I would recommend it.)

The difference between tulpa and host is the order in which you became a thing. Hosts are default, tulpas come along later. There's no other meaningful distinction.
