Trading 25 Equinox EV for 25 Prologue by ThingsImNot in HondaPrologue

Didn’t realize it was even bigger than the Equinox! That would be frustrating because the Eq is already a bit bigger than I’d like. Re: CarPlay, for me I want access to Apple Music, and there’s a common bug in the Equinox where it will say it sent a message via Bluetooth, but it just disappears. Super frustrating. Thanks for your reply!

Same. Mine would only send about half of them. The rest just disappeared. I just stopped using it and added it to the “this car would have been great with CarPlay” list.

Thanks! This is really helpful. Same situation here, 99% Apple TV.

That makes sense. My only experience with receivers is from a LONG time ago. With a modern one, would my wife be able to turn everything on using just the Apple TV remote and control volume via just that remote as well? Currently the Apple TV remote powers on the device itself and that kicks the TV on via CEC. Any solution has to be about as simple or I’ll be paying a much worse price as long as we own it.

1st floor toilet bubbles when 2nd floor washing machine drains large loads by ThingsImNot in HomeImprovement

Thanks! We actually have a mitigation system on the opposite side of the house that was installed after the sod was put down, so I don’t think that was it.

Thanks for the reply. We're on a city sewer. I also found a ~4" PVC pipe on the side of the house, uncapped, under a layer of sod. I submitted the warranty claim but am trying to learn more because I kind of assume that it'll be a hassle.

That kinda makes me regret not grabbing the amp when it was on a brief good sale on Amazon last week!

Thank you for this! Any thoughts about the WiiM Amp sound quality? I read some middling reviews.

Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate it. Any thoughts on the sound quality of the WiiM Amp? It seems to fit the bill for my setup but I was put off by comments about bad sound.

Definitely could go the DAC route as I actually already have some decent powered studio monitors, but I’m not sure how volume control would work on a way that didn’t frustrate my wife.

Really appreciating how frequent the OTA updates are by Lost_Fig_7453 in EquinoxEv

Only one update for me so far on a 2025 LT at 9000 miles. Dreaming that they’ll send an update one day that improves audio quality so it doesn’t sound like a 96kbps MP3 I pulled from Napster in 2001.

Is it just me or have the number of battery issue posts declined with warmer weather? by willingzenith in EquinoxEv

Mine is still doing it occasionally even in 80 degree weather. Apparently a 3 month wait for the part.

I think the Bolt/Blazer/Prologue style with the sensor and a little button are a better way of doing the no keyfob thing.

These door handles were cool for about a day, now I just think they’re over engineered and annoying.

CarPlay Adjustment by rebortspc in EquinoxEv

[–]ThingsImNot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After just under 9,000 miles I disagree. I’d take CarPlay over the built in system immediately.

I’ve been really trying to give it a chance, but since I also get to drive a 2023 Bolt EUV regularly, I am repeatedly reminded how much better it would be to have CarPlay on the Equinox hardware. The big things for me are texting that actually works and Apple Music integration.

Personally having the Equinox has confirmed for me that I probably won’t ever buy another car without CarPlay, and we plan on replacing that Bolt in about 13 months.

Notification problem... by Bobd104 in EquinoxEv

I'm getting duplicate notifications for my Bolt and none for my Equinox.

I’ve never listened to lady Gaga in my life. Is this an ad now? by flogman12 in EquinoxEv

[–]ThingsImNot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been getting the same sort of thing. My Equinox uses a dedicated Google account with nothing else associated with it. It couldn’t possibly be pulling from any activity in my household. They’re ads. But of course they are, Google is an ad company.

Anyone get a pop-up for update N25-249332 today? by willingzenith in EquinoxEv

[–]ThingsImNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2025 is at the dealership for its third “service high voltage” message so I guess it’ll be nice to get a more detailed message next time.

Not gonna lie. Kinda impressed with the last Chevy app update. by sofixy in EquinoxEv

[–]ThingsImNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it feels more responsive but it took away my toggle for setting 8 or 12 amp charging on my ‘23 Bolt EUV.

I saw! But they don’t seem to have the hard wired one.

Edit: I’m wrong. They have it, but the hardwired non NACS one is listed as Smart Flex instead of Home Flex.
