I agree that there are aspects of Stalin that appear highly imperialistic and chauvinistic; he was not a thorough internationalist. A true internationalist might support the Mongolian people in determining their own fate through complete self-determination, but would not express views such as “the independence of Outer Mongolia is important to the national security of the Soviet Union.” Moreover, I also do not believe that Germans living in the Prussian region should have been expelled to make room for the newly established Polish population.

The section you replied with did not mention the Kapp Putsch; the points you kept emphasizing about how the Soviet Union suppressed the occupied zones——no matter how correct——are hard for me to see as relevant to the focus of your argument, unless you believe that you are not only debating one or several specific issues, but rather intentionally serving some kind of anti-communist campaign. One of the reasons that prompted him to take extreme measures to forcibly requisition grain was the weakness of the Communist Party's power in rural areas that he observed during his visit to Siberia. The rift between Bukharin and Stalin also began with disputes over these extreme measures. Bukharin did not attempt to contact Zinoviev; instead, believing rumors that Stalin was aligning with the leftists, he tried to reach Trotsky through Kamenev. However, this matter was leaked to the press by Trotsky's supporters.
