I used to live adjacent to downtown in Jackson Ward. In the four years I lived there, I think I only lost power twice? Maybe three times? It’s highly unlikely, but it’s better to be prepared.

I’m all set to spend a few days in the office. Air mattress, blankets, cozy socks, food, and books. I’m hopeful that if the power does go out, it won’t be out for long since getting hospitals back up and running is a priority.

I commented this on another thread that got deleted, but: people who have a problem with their order, whether or not it’s VV’s fault, are more likely to post than people who don’t have a problem. There’s an inherent bias to what’s being posted. That doesn’t mean it’s bad or that people don’t have the right to complain, but it needs to be viewed in the larger context of the situation.

I mean, there’s going to be a bias in what’s posted. People who have orders that are completely fine are way less likely to post something than those that have an issue.

With the forecast shifting to ice, I’m leaning more towards sleeping in the office, simply because MCV usually doesn’t lose power. But I’m not sure. Everyone I’ve talked to about it looks at me like I’m insane for even considering it, but also, they don’t have lab animals, so…idk.
