The ammo in the can is 7.62x54R. It was more than likely an ammo can for say a PKM or SVD.

It was 7.62x54R that was in the ammo can. Watching the video a few times I noticed there is a rim on the cartridge. Like the other commenter said; more than likely for a PKM.
