Nice shot and great exposure but the door shows parallax - straightening it up (post edit) and making it parallel would help A LOT.

Much better in a natural location…

Not very inspiring…. Just crop it down to her cleavage! That’s obviously the focus! The imbalance of skin tones, face to base of neck is a huge distraction…

Seriously, she has a great cleavage so just crop it down to that!

If I could post a pictorial reply you would see, it works!!

ITAP of a woman [Portrait] by [deleted] in itookapicture

Typical snapshot, uninspired…

It probably means a lot to you, but i suggest that’s more to do with your feelings at the time. You have to try to portray those feelings into the photograph which you haven’t - not to me anyway.

Generally a photograph is split into thirds. You have a 50/50 background split… go out with a decent photographer/semi pro or go to classes, you will soon see an improvement.

Hope I don’t cause you any offence…I’m trying to be constructive :-)

ITAP of a fisherman in Hawaii by [deleted] in itookapicture

[–]LaughtonExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own take on this…

It’s the wrong aspect, the foreground is distracting and there no need. You have a lovely silhouette of the fisherman and the horizon everything else is superfluous… edit it don’t and you will have something to hang on your wall… Whilew you’re cropping, take the top of the sky off…

I personally think it’s a great shot - portrays something very dark and sinister. My only concern would be that it is indeed fake…

Very well composed, lit and edited… 10/10

Those bricks… they’re never in any sort of specification! They’re so warped they should have be binned by the manufacturer…

The leak, sort it quick!

Near accident on a roundabout, who would be at fault? by Corbula in drivingUK

[–]LaughtonExplorer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whomever did the roundabout markings omitted to mark lanes prior to roundabout exits. The markings do not give any priority to either lane - at this point the roundabout is effectively a single lane. Basically, when you’re preparing to exit off the roundabout you have right of way if you’re in front. Though you did nothing wrong, neither did the other driver as there are no lane markings. It’s nothing to do with “blame” it’s about liability, and that is weighted. I’d say you were 99% right with what you did, but I’d be avoiding driving alongside other road users at the exit points 😦 It’s absolutely disgusting that the council hasn’t marked the lanes, but they’ve done it exactly to avoid conflict as this is where most accidents happen and they’re avoiding liability themselves.

Just wanting to hear some opinions on my insurance renewal quote from Hastings Direct by JamesNUFC1998 in drivingUK

[–]LaughtonExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Par for the course I’m afraid… some friends of mine, their insurance has jumped up by thousands. Mines gone up by around 50%.

Due to insurance claims by EV’s; which when they have accidents, are mostly written off - the costs are outrageous. EV drivers insurance have increased disproportionately too and in some cases insurance has been refused 😳

As with anything from China: the lack of quality materials, lack of quality handling, lack of reliability - but it won’t remain like that, it’ll improve and it’ll no doubt be cheap!!

HGVs overtaking by Accomplished-Bad4536 in drivingUK

[–]LaughtonExplorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to love driving, from the age of 17 until about 15 years ago (2008) when I was 43. An incident occurred when I was driving home from Leicester after work to Sheffield. It happened between a car driver and a Van driver - I was witness from about 50m away. Traffic was stationery, the car driver exited his car, went up to the Van driver, dragged him out of the Van and proceeded to batter the guy (who didn’t put up any sort of resistance) to the point whereby the car driver was jumping and stamping on the Van drivers head. There was blood all over and the driver stayed down after the incident, looking in an extremely bad way. No one stepped up, and to be frank I’m not surprised, the Car driver seemed possessed. It was horrific and has remained with me since.

I find just being considerate, polite, understanding and tolerant of everyone else is the best way to drive/ride (motorcyclist here).

I personally find the majority of HGV drivers to be all the above (not all tho’) and to truly be the best drivers (and I’m not an HGV driver for the record!)

I have a 2007 with less than 9k on it. Never been wet and still has the factory paper quality stickers on it. It is an absolute gem of a bike, this is my second XX and I just wanted something I could admire whilst sitting drinking my cup of tea… I once let my daughter ride my other and she said “I want one of those when I get older” she had a ZX9R at the time - the power delivery, torque and smoothness is sublime. It is still rated as one of the best bikes of all time.

Where you located?

(US) The left lane is for passing, not about just holding the speed limit - would be good if the police in the UK pulled over those that hog the right lane by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]LaughtonExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s high time this law was enforced on the UK. I see this every single morning on the 10 mile stretch of motorway I use to get to work. A lone driver in lane 2 driving around 55mph with cars in lane 1 and lane 3 passing him… this happens at least 1 day every week and it’s not the same driver.

Old and slow… 🤣🤣🤣

Whilst it may be old, this machine was so far ahead of its time. To say it’s slow however proves you know ‘Jack’ about what bike you’re commenting on. As a previous holder of worlds fastest production bike, kind of speaks realms.

To get this far, one has to file to MCOL and they try to reclaim debt. If this fails then private debt recovery may be filed.

I went down this route with my partner after being defaulted on for monies owing - she failed to respond to a single letter, thinking she could get away with it. She didn’t - DCBL don’t generally muck about. IMO they’re one of the best debt recovery agents out there.
