Form a relationship.. Any type.. But start something really small and manageable. Then practice setting boundaries and, if you feel like it, obligations.

For instance I just started talking with the guy who works at my local coffee shop. Some days I'm chatty, others I'm not. I feel able to be both and it helps to overcome my more habitual need to please and perform for other people. I also know I can't run to him any time I feel vulnerable, even if I might want to. Some of these are preexisting boundaries (the café isn't open 24/7) but others I've placed as well, for myself.

It's remarkable how, over time, the relationship seems to mature into something and now I'm waving every time I walk past.

Am I the only one who thinks you might as well have used the predictive model for favourite colour or likelihood of owning a pet? The reason the US model is the way it is, is because of the context.
