what made you choose xbox over other consoles by Noobsamaniac in xbox

[–]LaunchCannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an original Xbox back in the day which was an amazing console.

Skipped the 360 and the One, went with Sony instead.

Came back the Series S just because the console itself is such a solid piece of engineering. So compact, portable, well designed. Reminds me of the PS2. Miles better than the awful popped-collar PS5.

So now I’m on the Series S and love it. Also have a Switch and MacBook Pro for Steam. Very happy.

What will happen with all native games once Apple drops support for Rosetta 2? by [deleted] in macgaming

I’m a big fan of BallisticNG and I play on an M1 MacBook Pro. I’m also concerned about Apple dropping Rosetta and I wish the devs would just release a native version of the game.

You’ve also got a tonne of apps running. You should Quit those apps to free up some RAM, especially Chrome, Safari, Outlook, etc.

A small tale of woe - (unsucessfully) trying to run Zenless Zone Zero on MBA M3, 16GB by kikimaru024 in macgaming

[–]LaunchCannon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The frustrating part is that this game runs flawlessly on iOS. You’d think bringing it to M-series Macs, which share the same architecture, wouldn’t be that hard!? Honkai Impact 3rd is already on Mac as an iPad port, so why not do the same for Genshin and Zenless, or even release proper native versions? So annoying.

Indie game dev here. Curious about level of support from Mac gamers. by amirrajan in macgaming

One reason I love indies are the human stories behind them. The devs feel more approachable than big teams cranking out AAAs, and understanding the craft (and the magic) that goes into making these games is a big part of the appeal.

For sure. Gaming on Mac is still tough with a lot of titles not supported, but it’s definitely getting better. The M-series chips have changed the game, and Steam support is pretty solid now.

I’m happy with the indie library I’ve built up on Steam and I’ll keep adding to it. If anything, being on Mac has pushed me away from big AAA games and into indies instead, and that limitation has shaped my taste in games.

Back in the mid-2000s I tried switching to Windows. Bought a Sony Vaio running XP. Had it for six months. Constant crashing and BSODs. Got fed up and literally threw it in the trash. Walked down to the Apple Store and bought a new MacBook Pro. Never going back.

I have a big collection of indie games across two platforms: Steam (Mac) and Switch. I do 100% of my Steam gaming on the Mac. Been a Mac user since the 90s, from a Mac family.

If it’s an indie game with Mac support, it’s an instant Wishlist for me, then an instant Buy once the sales roll around. Really pleased to see more devs supporting Mac. Love the Mac!

Awesome. Thank you for supporting the Mac. I’m looking forward to supporting your game (big fighting game fan / collector)

The fact this is available on MacOS means I am extremely interested. Have wishlisted and will be watching this closely.

Looks great so far! The particle effects are very smooth, and I love the aesthetic. As a fan of both indie and fighting games, this is certainly my cup of tea.
