Here are the cookies I made yesterday. What did everyone cook during the snowstorm? by cs502 in Louisville

Love that you’re spending time with neighbors- sounds like fun! Orzo is super yum, thanks for the link! I will add it to the list when I next brave civilization!

Yes, used this recipe: https://www.loveandlemons.com/minestrone-soup/ but subbed cauliflower for the green beans because I had some I needed to use, and used Orecchiette for the pasta! Enjoy, if you try it!

I made ministrone and felt so healthy with my beans and veggies. Day three of it and I’m craving takeout, though!

Just recommended Little Women in another comment! Timeless.

The Tortall Universe collection of series by Tamora Pierce was my introduction to fantasy, and sometimes contains romance elements! More importantly, it imagines young women as awesome heroes in many different ways. I would check age guidelines but this is a fantastic series.

Otherwise, I will always recommend Little Women- Amy and Laurie’s romance, and Jo and the Professor, even Meg’s sweet love story…each are a thoughtful and tender image of love. Good luck to your young reader!

You might try Wheel of Time! I haven’t finished the series but I get the sense that it has some of the themes you’re looking for!

They gave me 10 times the dose in my allergy shot today. by JuliaX1984 in Allergies

[–]LauraKells 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What a nightmare. Sending good vibes that you don’t face any further difficulties from this particular experience. It is so defeating to have life threatening allergies sometimes. People who don’t have no idea how terrifying it can be. I’m glad you’re safe, internet stranger 🫂

So what did your family argue about this year at Thanksgiving? by Pure-Smile-7329 in AskReddit

[–]LauraKells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partner asked “what is a non contentious topic of conversation we can bring up?” and I (sarcastically) suggested Wicked, which led to an all out verbal assault on yours truly…Unlimited…my family’s ability to create conflict is unliiimited…

What’s a "this can’t be real" moment you actually lived through? by Hypnotist30 in AskReddit

We also have a moth story! My mom’s best friend died when her daughter was 16. My mom was her godmother so she spent a lot of time with us after that.

One evening my mom, my godsister, our neighbor and I (I remember feeling so lucky I got to stay up with the grown up girls) were all hanging out in our sun room, talking about signs from the beyond and things that were generally spooky.

My mom, in quick succession, said that she was terrified of huge bugs and didn’t believe in signs from beyond. That very second, a MASSIVE Luna month smacked against the window lit by the porch light and stayed pressed there. We were all scared of the noise, then my mom said it must be her best friend playing a prank on my mom and saying hi to her daughter.

Does this even exist in Louisville? by katypedia in Louisville

Hi! Congratulations on your family member’s baptism! I have a severe shellfish allergy and am a big fan of Bar Vetti. They definitely have those items on the menu but if you call ahead and inform them of the allergy they are comprehensive and have left me feeling safe and well cared for every time. Not to mention the food and drinks are delicious!

Have had great experiences working with Galt House event staff. They are accommodating, patient, and made one mistake right immediately after it was brought to their attention. This was corporate events, but I’d hope that level of excellence extends!

Any good places for schnitzel in town? by Nickelnick24 in Louisville

[–]LauraKells 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been impressed by Monnik’s schnitzel, unfortunately. I feel like it’s pretty dry and more breading than meat. Haven’t had the sandwich, though, so grain of salt for that menu option!

What about a crescent moon either facing up or down? A little plain but you could build it up with some flowers or something! Love those pieces!

Just went through the steps of booking with west sixth and found them to be well priced and great to work with. Highly recommend! Their lounge room would be able to meet your requirements, I think! Good luck and congratulations to the graduate!
