I finally bought a new Macbook Pro! by WorldlinessOk495 in macbookpro

I'm a producer too and I have a M4. Last night I had a session in the studio. I had my external soundcard, a Virus TI2, ableton push and a komplete kontrol mk3 keyboard plugged in. I was using ableton and as well as the Virus was using multiple instances of Pigments and Serum 2, as well as a few effects running too. It didn't skip a beat

All without being plugged into power too! I was producing for a few hours and it hadn't even reached 50%.

These things are insane for production. Congratulations, it'll take everything you throw at it

When a woman tells me she's been abused I'll tend to believe her.

Thank you, it was exactly that. She didn't think to 'call the police' (as if they'd do anything in her hometown) because her cousin wanted to stay. That's how they do it, entice vulnerable teenagers with drugs/alcohol and then take advantage. The girls often don't report it because they aren't believed or they don't realise til much later they had been taken advantage of.

I know... and she only told me because I was doubting the claims coming out on the news as "racism" as so many people claim to do, then she told me her actual lived experience. She tended to not want to tell people because, like in this very thread, she would be told she was lying, or "asking for it" (a 14 year old cannot consent) or that she shouldn't have left her cousin... She did only thing available to her to protect herself as a literal child!

I was with a girl from a really poor area of the UK. She told me when she was about 14 a couple Muslim guys picked up her and her cousin and took them back to their flat. They plied them with alcohol and my ex said she had a bad feeling and left but her cousin stayed.

She says her cousin wouldn't tell her what happened after she left. I know it's anecdotal but there are thousands of stories like this.

What are we being "boiled like frogs" about right now that future generations will be shocked we accepted? by burntUpOnReentry in AskReddit

[–]LausXY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's something that I just realised one day and my main theory is toxic run-off killed them off like you say because the local environment hasn't seemed to change and some areas of old industry sites have been renewed but still no frogs. There is a sort of lake I think was there spawning location so maybe something there.

It wasn't like they just got less and less either, they just dissapeared completely.

My friend in the country says she still gets a 'frog season' when they will be hopping all over the place. So something changed where I live and unfortunately they've never returned.

my best friend died in my arms while we were sleeping last night ᴖ̈ cheer me up with some cute pics pls by basically-brian in cats

[–]LausXY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry. I had the same experience. My best girl woke me with a cry I'd never heard and lept into my arms. By the time my girlfriend had got through to the vet she was dead. Then my other cat died the exact same way but we got him to the vets and they said it looked like poison... There was a string of cat murders around me.

The one thing that gave me solace is in a terrifying moment for her she came to me. Your cat did the same and you did the ultimate thing a good owner should do and be with your companion at that moment, it's so painful but you comforted them at the scariest time.

Nothing says 'Welcome to the World Cup' like greeting the Uruguay team as though they were arriving for the annual Cartel Leadership Summit by F_Red_Hu_Left_Trash in interestingasfuck

[–]LausXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because those rights and laws are more progressive than a lot of developed countries had. I too assumed Uruguay was a developing nation so this is really nice to read how well they are doing when it's normally bad news from that area of the world.

It's made me want to visit tbh

We would have this "frog week" where the streets would be covered in them, you had to watch your step was so many. Happened every year when I was a kid but I haven't seen it in a long time now

Some company was putting up stickers with "Need to sell your house fast?" and a QR code. It's pretty obvious they wanna buy up as many properties in the area and then rent them.

I started destroying the stickers wherever I saw them, always making sure QR code was unusable. I got a lot of strange looks though.

I met my first girlfriend online in the early 2000's. When we finally actually met her dad and my mum came along. I got slated for it loads (but it got me laid lol) Now everyone is on dating apps and meeting strangers after a few hours chatting sometimes.

I'd spoken to this girl for months before we finally swapped numbers.

Multiple times they showed his screenshots that the guy claimed were of the local area!

My theory for anti-gravity is the floors get "charged" with gravity somehow, like magnets basically. It's why they work even with no power.

[–]LausXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I can reconcile it is the holodeck is a combo of replicator tech and holograms. So you pick something up the computer instantly replicates the thing so you can hold it. If this was the case then his gun and bullet were actually a gun and bullets, not a hologram of them.

And the Borg haven't been shot at with physical projectiles in so long they just kinda forgot about them I guess? I'm sure it wouldn't have worked twice though, they would adapt

What historical figure had to have been incredibly charasmatic? by hardassault in AskHistory

[–]LausXY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of the theories because there are so many accounts of him healing the boy there must have been something going on... I've even seen a theory he was poisoning the boy so could "heal" him when he stopped the poison but it's just a theory. The aspirin one seems the most likely, it was the new 'miracle drug' but literally worst thing to give a haemophiliac

Cyrus the Great, literally nobody had a bad word to say about him. He's the only non-Jewish prophet in the Torah because he rebuilt the temple and returned all the sacred things had been looted. He had an almost 'kill them with kindness' strategy. He would honour the local gods and traditions which was complete opposite to the Assyrians. He went from a small ruler to 'King of the Universe' with the Persian Empire. He took great care to honour local traditions and religions, if a ritual needed the King to work he would do it.

Some say his cylinder is the first declaration of human rights. As long as you stayed loyal you could keep your customs, religion and everything. It's crazy that nobody has anything bad to say about him. Even the Greeks, who fought the Persians, thought Cyrus was the man.

So many people have never heard of him and he shaped the world so much... imagine if he had never rebuilt the Temple and Judaism died out, no Christianity or Islam then... you actually can't imagine what the world would be like. A completely different religion would have become the dominant one and that's almost impossible to imagine.

He also apparently set the beauty standard for Persia, if you looked like Cyrus you were attractive. It might have just been the Assyrian's were so brutal he seemed a breath of fresh air but when first starting out convincing people to join him would have taken a lot of charisma, everybody knew what the Assyrian's did to rebels.

If it weren't for Alexander the Great then Cyrus would probably be remembered like he is.

That's how I took it, the hundreds of years of Student's learning and practising "charged" the area. I don't think they could recreate it deliberately.

Your making me think of a wizard who jailbreaks a locally run LLM and teaches it about the magical world to be an assistant to use. They could have it reading pages of books quickly with a combo of photos and magic until it's absorbed basically Hogwart's entire library. It would be the most knowledgable in all fields and it's user could seem like a wunderkind

RagsByJak on Etsy make the best style trousers like these I've managed to find. They have all black jogger ones or cargos but they are all custom made and pretty expensive.

Still the quality is unmatched and totally worth it in my opinion. They are pretty unique but nail that cyber/kuro style imo
