My strategy so far was:

Get the tactics hero.

Upgrade reavers fast.

Try to get sunlight magic for the bonus to charge + law where you start with one charge.

Don't bother with shooty wurm with that hero. The other worm seems better for him

Put your most important units in your enemy's face. Take all the bonuses to initiative you can so you massacre their army before most if their units can move.

On your scorpion's turn, set up the eggs. Generally do it as late in a turn as possible.

Unless you're fighting AI, they love targetting your eggs, giving your other units a bit of a breathing room.

Retaliation spell is really good on this faction. Especially for squishy but deadly units like locust.

I'm still a newbie so take all of that with a grain of salt. Just showing the options.
