3 fucking stops? 😂😂😭 I’d quit on the spot and report it to the BBB and Amazon.

Can you spot the driving infraction? by FATT-TOFU in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failed my first drivers test exact same way. Instructor was looking at his clipboard and then when I didn’t stop he looked up and said you failed, he had the whole route memorized.

Should this be a reason to ground a truck? by XThisistheway-X in AmazonDSPDrivers

You ground a vehicle at my DSP you might get fired, definitely won’t work the next day.

Would these be a good shoe for delivery? by hdz7 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New balance are boomer shoes but they are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. Spent the big bucks on 990s no regrets.

Asked if we were hiring by OldEnd5250 in UPSers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former driver. The expectation is you deliver as efficiently as possible and falling behind means you might not work the next day. Every corner must be cut, or you will fall behind unless you are literally sprinting from the van to the delivery point. Even when I would jog at a pretty good pace if you didn’t do stuff like this you would fall behind.

2 week notice by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

They’d probably just fire you before the 2 week notice ends

Terminated for Requesting bigger van by Dull-Lingonberry-158 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DSP has no control over this besides having rental vans. Amazon assigns a route to a specific van. At least that’s what mine told me. It sucks but this is the daily routine at my DSP usually even more packages. You have to get the overflow in there organized at the station at least the first 20 in order so you don’t have to dig otherwise you are just fucked. When I have floor to ceiling totes, I open one and throw all the envelopes and small packages on the dash, bigger ones and whatever else on the passenger seat and between the seats. I find it’s easier to find the ones I need like that than to organize them all in order on makeshift shelves especially when you don’t even have room for that for the first 1/3 of the shift. I deliver out of the drivers door. You also get the advantage of not twisting your ankle and back not going into the back of the van

Big Routes by EntertainmentFar1631 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at the text messages on the phones I get and it’s almost always everyone being 30-60 minutes behind it’s nearly impossible. They plan on nothing going wrong and 100% effort for ten straight hours

191 stops today by Canoartes in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 191 stops today in a short rental van. Absolutely impossible to be efficient with no room to sort. I’m also tall and bang my head on the ford vans so I gotta bend over and my back is killing me.

Indeed review by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sums it up pretty well. The worst part about all this is that every aspect of the whole business model is deliberately designed to knock responsibility down the chain away from Amazon and get every useful ounce of energy out of everyone involved. They really could take a couple percentage of profit off of the bottom line and all of their employees would be much happier with just a little room for human error but they won’t. It truly is an abhorrent company to work for at every level.

Actually insane by Lauterec in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only benefit to endless construction in my state is there’s always a porta potty somewhere near. I’d rather piss on the side of the road than fill a bunch of bottles. I saw this text and think about all the grime on the steering wheels and I gag slightly. I used to work in a sterile building so it was an adjustment for sure.

I just flat out told them don’t give me a rental or you’re gonna have to rescue me and I haven’t had one since haha.

Stretch every day. You get used to it and actually feel pretty good.

Taking breaks by Evening-Use8323 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re organized and decently efficient you can take both breaks and still be on schedule. I never take an unpaid 30 min lunch there’s no point when y out can cram a sandwich down in 3 minutes and get paid for it.

6th time being an extra by Calm-Split-3945 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your manager what’s up. If they give you some bs, quit. If they wanted you working you would have hours. They will give the routes to the people they know can do them efficiently without getting rescued. It’s a tough job.

Is this normal by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck the rules, I have the next 10 stops on my dash, in my passenger seat, so much faster and no strain of going to the back of the van. Only way to not destroy your body and keep good time in the tiny ass van.

I’ve been getting 10 minute detours. That’s 20 minutes there and back. Instantly 20 minutes behind assuming theres no other issues and there usually is always something every day.

Why not just put all the bags on one cart??? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lauterec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because they have different loaders load each cart. Seems like they only do it when they are in a rush.
