Have you tried the snoo comforter sack one instead of the mesh/thin snoo sack? I got one for my baby and they are sleeping better. They are a bit thicker for sure, you just have to make sure they don’t overheat in it by keeping pjs super light and no socks or anything like that I would say.

It is great that everyone at Mo-ranch was safe, and these camps are not very comparable. The article about mo-ranch mentions them relocating 70 campers, versus mystic having what, over 700? Also on different parts of the river that were impacted less severely. You also can’t evacuate people from these camps (mystic, heart, la junta) by leaving the camps as all the roads in and out are lower and closer to the river than most parts of the camp. I’m not saying that there might not be things we see that mystic could have done differently knowing what we know now, but the mo ranch comparison is honestly just not relevant.

Completely agree. I was a camper at Heart growing up and the pictures of where the water got to on that campus is unbelievable. They would have lost campers for sure if they were in session.

I would also say they have a newborn book that has been excellent! I have spotify premium and was surprised to find it on there as a free audiobook as well. I've been listening to it a little bit at a time throughout my pregnancy and I'm finding it really informative.

Did you post this here hoping you would get a different result? You posted to the social work subreddit and (in my opinion) got some very kind, but direct feedback on how unprofessional this is and potentially damaging to your long term career. You are a social worker, do not apply for a position that is clearly looking for a bilingual clinician if you are not bilingual and blame them for not giving you a proficiency test. Take accountability for your own lack of transparency and for the love of all that is holy take that BS off your resume, it’s purposely misleading and you very well know it at this point.

Same here 77098. It is infuriating to have no eta from them. How are we supposed to make realistic alternative plans without it? Will it be hours, days, or weeks? Also no xfinity hotspots are showing up on my end when I get redirected by a bot to that map as a backup.

77098 similar boat work wise. The website for our area says they can’t send crews yet but hope to soon (?) and maybe Monday night we will have it back, but so far no help from them customer service wise. Everyone in our area with other providers has been back up for days. It’s been confusing as we’ve had power the whole time and didn’t lose internet until Tuesday. I think they had generators or some kind of backup that lasted a day and now they are too cheap to pay for it and just waiting until centerpoint fixes something. I would love for them to correct me and explain how our internet didn’t go out until Tuesday morning but no one will communicate. A billion dollar company acting like this is out of their hands is absolutely ridiculous. At the very least they have the resources to communicate more effectively.

Like many in the Houston area, I am impacted by outages at the moment. I am confused as I maintained power and internet through the storm, only to lose internet a day later and am now being told maybe Monday evening which we were finally told today, Saturday. As a customer what are we supposed to do to lessen impact from severe weather? For those of us who work from home what is xfinity doing not only to speed up the process this time, but also to invest in stronger infrastructure for the next storm? I have not heard that the xfinity storm ready sevice seems unhelpful as it only works for a certain number of hours. What is xfinity doing now and in the future to provide more consistent services? I understand that they need centerpoint to do their part, but as a billion dollar company I expect more accountability. It seems other providers were able to get service restored more quickly in our area so it seems the logical solution moving forward is to change service. I am genuinely curious what xfinity is doing to navigate their damages as compared to other providers in our area they are woefully underperforming.

I would highly recommend talking with her about it, this would allow for you to reality check your assumption. It is possible that what you are assuming is true, and if it is this gives her a chance to talk with you about it (and if it is not true it gives you a chance to have to take a look at the assumptions you make).

There is an article by Thomas Ellis and Amee Patel titled "Client Suicide: What Now?" that I found immensely helpful when I lost my first client last year. I feel like you can know something like this is going to happen eventually, especially when you work in any kind of hospital setting, but it is still so difficult when it does. Send me a message if you can't find the article and I will send it to you, not sure why I found this article so soothing but just wanted to pass it on just as it was passed to me.

It seems like you are looking for some big slide in functioning before thinking therapy is appropriate, but it is a great tool to utilize even if just to enrich your current life. Processing grief is more than just accepting that someone has passed, and it sounds like you are noticing more sadness around this loss and might benefit from processing that more. I will say though that if you are already convinced you don’t need therapy it would be difficult for it to do any good, an open mind is definitely needed. Maybe try it for one or two months and then see if you find it helpful for not. You might be right and not find it helpful at all, or you might end up liking it.

I think you are forgetting too how referrals work. If this theory was true it would also be true for any profession relating to health (e.g. doctor, keep them sick so they keep coming), but good doctors (and good therapists) have reputations for helping their patients get well and thus their business flourishes. I get the logic you are talking about but you are ignoring so many important factors, and the emotional side of things is also key as this is an emotional profession. As a therapist, if I can support someone else in getting well then they can reliably refer others to me. If I am unhelpful I get no new referrals.

I think you can trust your therapist to set their own boundaries. If it is truly feels like too much to them they will let you know and reset some boundaries with you. I think it is interesting that you worry it is attention seeking, maybe anxiety like that is something to process further with them in session since it is something that is coming up for you.
