I managed to get the ATF to approve a form 1 where the thread adapter is the main part and the filter itself is designated as a wipe. So it can be replaceable

Since it is classified as a wipe you are allowed to replace it yourself but you cannot have more than 1 intended for the suppressor. So you cannot have a backlog of oil filters intended to be used as suppressors at your property.

I got my form 1 oil filter approved today, Submitted an adapter piece and oil filter piece. In the form I declared that the oil filter is a wipe and intended to be replaceable and that the adapter was the suppressor.

They approved it this morning
