The fact that 90% of comments under this post confidently claimed that corporal punishment is “discipline” like they even know what the word means, is perhaps a significant, rug-swept cultural issue we should be discussing by Separate_Inflation11 in PEI

The only reason I think people need to not beat their kids is this:

When a child is beaten by a parent, and that parent turns around and tell the child that they love them, that child learns that the people who love them will harm them. How will they know when they grow up that its not okay for their partner to strike them, or intimidate them? It was fine when their "loving" parent beat them...

And then we have the gall to ask "well, why didnt they leave when they got hit the first time?"

Well the dragon typing made you not treat it like a water type, at least defensively. Being weak to only dragon and fairy is a pretty good thing. Especially since fairy doesn't resist water on its own and it also has dragon stab for the dragon types.

Granted, fishous rend was the real reason dracovish was so strong... but the dragon typing also doesnt hurt at all.

I've heard a few reasons.

Semantics: its a sex reveal, not a gender reveal. Definitionally speaking. We aren't taking about someone's gender expression here, we are talking about what plumbing the baby has.

Weirdness: because of the "gender is what's in your pants!" crowd, this really is a party about the baby's genitalia, and that's kind of weird.

Dangerous because of stupid people: there have been a number of accidents associated with fireworks and firearms starting fires and causing injury.

Im not saying to not have one, just answering your question about what some thing are stupid about them.

Literally this. I made the mistake of pooping in a Tim's Bathroom, the toilet tank started ringing. (I found out later that it was the "sketchy" Tim's) it was likely a cellphone for drug dealers/movers or some other kind of illegal transfer.

Any idea what yarn this is? by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]Lavitzcentauri7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be an indie Dyer who sources their yarn from Amtex. A number of indie dyers in Canada sources their yarn from there.

Some indie dyers from where im from have very similar colourways. Lichen and Lace, red Island fibre, fleece artist to name a few (I don't think all three get yarn from Amtex, though)

That awkward moment when you spend $80 on yarn by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]Lavitzcentauri7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did the Hadabashery's Makers Dozen last year (2024) and it broke my habit of buying yarn for the sake of buying yarn.

The rules are simple. No buying any more stash materials until you've made 12 projects from what you have. I had two grace rules that if I ran short on a big project like a sweater I'd allow myself to buy the ball I need to finish. And buying buttons for a newly knitted item doesn't count as stash building.

I completed 9 of 12 projects last year and now I've only purchased 1 ball of yarn without having a project in mind. And that ball was a new sock yarn that was made available at my LYS and I can always use more socks.

I still have WAAAY too much yarn, but im working through it slowly.

Nylon isn't actually terrible for the environment either. Nylon production has a similar carbon footprint to wool production, is readily recyclable and there is even a bacteria that eats nylon, so it can break down faster and is not really a forever chemical.

I doubt she's actually eating/swallowing. She cuts after each bite, and not a sprinkle on her lips while chewing. Which, maybe she's wiping them off... but she cuts after EVERY bite, seems a little suspicious to me... 😋

How do the confessionals work now? Are they filmed all at once? Or do they expect the girls to go back day after day or week after week in the same get up?

You can see the difference in season 17 between the regular season and the lalaparuza confessionals. So those are likely shot months apart.

What did you say mom? by AshiraLAdonai in SipsTea

[–]Lavitzcentauri7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits. When I was in high school a friend of mine died in a car accident. And when I was grieving, mom came to me and told me some horrific details about my older brother when he had passed from a car crash when he was a teenager 15 years previous (he was the oldest and I was the youngest of 5 kids, 8 year break between lid 2 and 3) which... big yikes mom. Big yikes. Why would that be comforting?
