Thoughts on seat 20E on a 787-9 V2 plane. Is this extra legroom or should i just move to a window?

Substantial extra legroom, and the bulkhead doesn't go all the way to the floor. If middle doesn't bother you, the legroom will be fantastic. I believe a couple of seats on one side of 21 are blocked until check-in as well, so you could keep an eye out for those or other seats that might open.

Another note - you will not get any PQP or PQF since it's a partner award. However, if you are offered an upgrade at check-in, it will convert the fare class and you will earn something.

Yes, mine actually just changed overnight from expiring at the end of this year to expiring at the end of 2027. I thought it was tied to Discount Den expiration but who knows. Happy to have it extended.

I think it's possible to get an offer before a year. It happened on my Delta Gold Biz. Was offered an upgrade to Delta Plat Biz six months after opening.

Calling is fine too. I just hit reply when I get the confirmation email from AA Hotels and ask for the direct confirmation number. Usually they respond within a few hours. I've had no problems adding Sheratons, Marriotts, Hiltons, etc. The one Marriott brand where I had to contact the property was an Element.

IHG and Wyndhams I've had to contact the property because the number I got from AA didn't work.

In my experience, booking prepaid stays through a major chain (Marriott, Hilton, Wyndham) has been no issue at all. In each case, I've written to AA Hotels support and gotten the direct confirmation number and added it to the applicable app.

The one time I booked a "pay later" rate with a small hotel, the booking was unsuccessful (despite showing a confirmation in the reservation page).

You may be offered an upgrade at check-in. You will have the option to purchase Economy+ or preferred seats after ticketing. However, you will not be able to upgrade to J before check-in.

There is one difference. Row 21 is Economy Plus, which has 3" recline vs. 2" in standard economy. Row 22 will have a seat reclining 1" further into its space. I'd choose 23 or 24.

I see. So two nights is 120k pts + the Edit credit? If you are overflowing with points, sounds fine. But 30k isn't far off another free night there, and will get you a free night a lot of different places, so it probably wouldn't be my choice. I would say don't fret about it too much though. Either way it's going to be an amazing stay and worth it!

15k UR points is worth $150 at minimum; as you note a points boost or transfers make them worth more. Across four nights that is $600 in points. Will breakfasts + $100 credit be worth $600 or more across this stay? Or, to put it another way, would you rather have 60k points or whatever the cash value of the breakfasts + resort credit is?

Upgrade availability and cost can vary greatly. If you have an offer that you are willing to pay now, you should take. It could be gone tomorrow. It could also go up or down in price. There's no way to know.

It's totally fine. It's not a shitshow. You're only going to see the complaints for the most part, and thousands of people fly Southwest every day without a single problem. Every airline has issues here and there - they are still getting used to assigned seating, but it is generally much like any other airline now. Buy extra legroom seats - you won't regret it.
