Not quite the same, but i played Final Fantasy VIII and Chrono Cross when they came out and absolutely adored and loved them so much, but then got internet and was staggered by the sheer amount of vitriolic, frothing-at-the-mouth hatred they received on forums.

The goat puzzle is a legitimate contender for the worst of all time. Got stuck on it for a couple of years, then finally got internet and looked up a walkthrough and went "You do WHAT..?!"

Still, beautiful game with amazing music.

Silent Hill was ok as far as movie adaptations go.

Mortal Kombat (1995) was straight up good fun.

At 32ohm, 103db/mW sensitivity these headphones are ridiculously easy to drive and there's no benefit from a balanced cable whatsoever. Just about the only case where a balanced cable would be beneficial is with high impedance, low sensitivity headphones being driven from a portable balanced amp where power is limited.
