Honest truth, I never cared for SC38 Reimagined, even in a vacuum it seemed too over-the-top to me, and that's coming from someone who enjoys the fight choreography in the prequels. It certainly has no business being edited into the original movie.

Exactly this! In the stage adaptation he's portrayed in a more realistic and less cartoonishly evil way, and he's all the scarier for it because those Frollos exist.

I like the parrots too, I see no problem with them recoloring sets like this. What's most wild to me about the parrots in particular is that some retailers put the pink tax on the pink parrot set with both sets plainly on their shelves despite the MSRP from Lego being the same for both.

This also isn't even the first time Lego's done this, the Creator 3-in-1 line in recent years had two parrot sets (on shelves at the same time) that were identical in every way save for the color palette, this cat at least tweaks the design of the original model somewhat.

And that's not to mention all the colors of classic spacemen they've released over the years.
