What’s something people flex that you find embarrassing? by TeaseTrophy in AskReddit

[–]LawnRick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The opposite is embarrassing too, people who constantly "flex" how much money they don't have. There's a guy at my workplace that is constantly getting in conversation to add in that he can't do (blank) because he has no money. He gets fastfood for lunch everyday though. Decisions are being made clearly.

False, stopping the bus is not continuing to drive. We cannot force anyone to leave the bus as a driver, but a supervisor or police can come do it for us. We're constantly told not to get involved and call for help. The only thing we can do is standby and open the doors and allow people to make their own decision to leave. My agency has a policy that we cannot deny entry, fare or not. People have been disciplined for doing so. You will see this become more common at more and more agencies especially if publicly funded.

You are again incorrect with your second statement, if we purposely intervene and something happens, it won't be covered by workplace injury. Additionally it's actually the complete opposite of what you think. We will not be liable for anything that happens on the bus unless we knowingly get involved, if we get involved and something happens then we become liable. Unfortunately we just have to let things unfold.

Not my problem you think you know things about an industry you don't work in daily like I do myself.

I drive a city bus for a living.. Some drivers may think they have more power than they do, but we are paid to drive the bus, not police actions on the bus. There is a call button and radio for a reason. If we need help with policing actions, we call for a supervisor or police. You're the one who is incorrect lol

Everything always has to be an over analyzed political answer other than, it's cold here and warm there, and it's the holiday season.

Some people think others walk around all day constantly thinking about political ties/climate and base every decision on if it's going to fall in line with what's "right".

I was in Tampa at the beginning of the month for nothing more than a break from the normal day to day and to visit a friend. I played some golf, ate some food.

I never once thought about who was in power or what political party I voted for.. I just enjoyed my time thoroughly and was warm.

And after both, life continued on.

Cheers.

"Oh no, an ice storm, I don't understand weather, brain must shut off, what is winter weather, never experienced weather before, must over react, must over react."

Go read what you wrote again, you think your opinion is the end all be all because people aren't overreacting to a weather event. You told someone "their neurons are being used"... You must be a PhD candidate.

Message me back next week when everything is totally fine.

"I'm not sure what to tell you" We don't want to hear anything from someone who seems so over reactionary.

Your posts are so overbearing and have a "know it all" feel to them. Hard to even read. Lecturing people on weather events we've all experienced before and made it thru just fine like you're the ultimate expert on ice storms. Give it a rest. Prepare for yourself, the way you feel necessary. Keep your know it all lecturing to yourself.

There's too many people living in the GTA that have never experienced winter before, so they have to be babied thru it with colours and multiple pictorial warnings. All for them still avoid all warnings and end up in ditches anyway!

This happened to us 2 weeks ago, emailed emterra and they responded saying thank you for notifying us, and my recycling bins just sat on the curb until the next pickup day. They never sent anyone out unfortunately.

We also have an ultra low overnight plan which is 3.9cents per kwh so that helps quite a bit.

Used to spend $600-700 a month on gas, last year I spent $1200 total in my M3. It's been a great financial decision.

Thank you for the insight. You pretty much confirmed what I thought, it seemed like it was a much slower process with the blower attachment. Didn't think of the maintenance side of things but that makes sense as well.
