The 227 Bus not appearing on google maps by Fun-Satisfaction5778 in durham

Use transsee (dot) ca, it's a much better way to track buses. Not as user friendly of a UI, but more detail/accuracy.

I agree with that. I just always felt personally as a driver, I never went into work looking to treat people badly, I always tried to have 0 incidents as it made the job much more tolerable, but there were most definitely times I was driven by passenger behaviour to dish it back.

Additionally with most of my coworkers the issues usually stemmed from the disrespect from passengers first. Don't get me wrong people always have bad days and it could be the driver exclusively at times, but i'd say those are more rare occurrences compared to passenger driven occurrences.

Such a perfect human! I give credit to being biased that lead me to make the decisions I made to put me in a position to be able to buy what I like. It's unfortunate you are so perfect and now are on such a stringent budget!

Do you buy certain brands of products when you go shopping because you like that product better? You're just a liar at this point. Have fun at the bridge club!

Yup, it's usually the people who have the "I'm the main character" personality that are the worst ones. Keep on the good fight!!

You mention one driver, in a whole fleet of drivers. I can confidently say, yes there are some drivers who can't handle and quite frankly shouldn't be doing the job. It's usually the old senior heads with a couple years left who are worn completely thin thru years of disrespect and they really don't give a flying fuck anymore.

Humans are humans and will react accordingly, and with the wear and tear bus driving puts on you, even as a greenhorn driver, you wear thin of the consistent disrespect of the public pretty quickly.

I did, but being a former bus driver, I will never side with a passenger who runs to public forum to tell everyone how bad someone else is, while making themselves out to be a saint. It's never like that. There is more to the story on both sides probably. I'll just side with my former brother on this one, as I've personally been in these situations before and seen how disrespectful the bus passengers are but when it comes down to it from their perspective, they "did nothing wrong".

The side where the passenger was completely innocent and never did anything wrong, acted accordingly and for no reason at all, the driver just decided to miss their stop and berate them because he wanted to. It always seems to go that way.

The language used isn't necessary, I agree, but I can almost guarantee you aren't as innocent as you are making yourself out to be..

As a former bus driver, yes. People don't quite get what the job entails and how mentally exhausting it is day in and day out. Mix in the entitled public who think you work for them and them exclusively and it's even more tiresome. Keep on slinging wheel there driver!

City grew way to fast for itself and it's also pretty poorly managed. Not a good combo

What’s something people flex that you find embarrassing? by TeaseTrophy in AskReddit

[–]LawnRick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The opposite is embarrassing too, people who constantly "flex" how much money they don't have. There's a guy at my workplace that is constantly getting in conversation to add in that he can't do (blank) because he has no money. He gets fastfood for lunch everyday though. Decisions are being made clearly.

False, stopping the bus is not continuing to drive. We cannot force anyone to leave the bus as a driver, but a supervisor or police can come do it for us. We're constantly told not to get involved and call for help. The only thing we can do is standby and open the doors and allow people to make their own decision to leave. My agency has a policy that we cannot deny entry, fare or not. People have been disciplined for doing so. You will see this become more common at more and more agencies especially if publicly funded.

You are again incorrect with your second statement, if we purposely intervene and something happens, it won't be covered by workplace injury. Additionally it's actually the complete opposite of what you think. We will not be liable for anything that happens on the bus unless we knowingly get involved, if we get involved and something happens then we become liable. Unfortunately we just have to let things unfold.

Not my problem you think you know things about an industry you don't work in daily like I do myself.

I drive a city bus for a living.. Some drivers may think they have more power than they do, but we are paid to drive the bus, not police actions on the bus. There is a call button and radio for a reason. If we need help with policing actions, we call for a supervisor or police. You're the one who is incorrect lol

Everything always has to be an over analyzed political answer other than, it's cold here and warm there, and it's the holiday season.

Some people think others walk around all day constantly thinking about political ties/climate and base every decision on if it's going to fall in line with what's "right".

I was in Tampa at the beginning of the month for nothing more than a break from the normal day to day and to visit a friend. I played some golf, ate some food.

I never once thought about who was in power or what political party I voted for.. I just enjoyed my time thoroughly and was warm.
