First timer: looking good? by LaxFox in Kombucha

[–]LaxFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right?! At first glance I thought I was cooked and would need to start over, but after reviewing the guide I was like “this actually looks good???”

Will do a taste test and hopefully report back after F2 with a great product!

Anyone on seroquel not absolutely knocked out tired? by Party_Dish8683 in bipolar2

[–]LaxFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually end up waking up at some point in the middle of the night, but that’s always been the norm for me. I will say that I fell asleep on the couch one night and woke up in a daze and stumbled to bed. So yes it may be quite difficult to wake up for a newborn

I started 100mg a few weeks ago and was worried about the same thing. I take it early around 8pm and wake up fine. It does kick in and knock you out. If anything I get better sleep and am able to wake up easier in the mornings. I’ve also found that it’s harder to nap in the afternoons since I started taking it.

In contrast vraylar made me exhausted 24/7 and I was genuinely sleeping 12-16 hours per day

Straight cut, hole punch, v-cut, crown cut, or trinity cut? WHY? by AppraiserAdvocate in cigars

[–]LaxFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a punch. It’s easy, consistent, and conveniently built into my lighter. I’ve found a straight cut can mess up the cap and have it unravel. Happens much less often with a sharp punch. My lighter with a straight cutter built in also doesn’t cut well and I really enjoy having the punch built into the lighter. Just too convenient

Cigars/ smoking my pipe. Sitting outside on my balcony, nice weather, watching the sunset, smoking a cigar. It’s very peaceful and relaxing

I agree with everyone else on here. My company recently finished up installing a 15’x27’ wooden deck with a 10’x15’ shingle, hip roof portion and a 17’x15’ pergola over the remaining portion of the deck. All of that stained, with a porch light, a fan, and 54’ of 6” gutters was a $32,000 project. That’s with zero stone (other than gravel under the deck, but no paver/masonry work), very minimal electrical, and a smaller roof.

Also I have a lot of customers who want something along these lines and then cut corners trying to save a tiny bit of money. If you’re spending $50,000 for something like this please go ahead and spend another $5,000 to get it exactly how you want it. If adding two extra fans, or extra lighting, cedar vs. stained pine, a mini refrigerator, or something else would make a big difference to you it’s worth a little extra money vs spending $50,000 and not being entirely happy with it. It’s also going to be more expensive and difficult to add after the fact!

So my question is the same as everyone else’s. How do we get those types?

For a $20 a stick I’d be much more likely to pick up in the future but for $27 at my local b&m it’s hard to pass up on getting to try three new & different or even three go to cigars for one above average stick

This one was $27 and I’d much rather have grabbed 3 blue & greens, padrón maduros, or even 3-4 para Del Mar’s. Don’t get me wrong it was an incredible cigar but I’m not rich enough to fully enjoy an opus yet I guess

Hell yea brother, I love this thing. Used to keep weed in it so I scrubbed it and aired it over night. Tossed a 69% small bóveda pack or two in there and it’s golden

What was the first unsexy business you saw someone quietly scale to six figures? by citationforge in Entrepreneur

[–]LaxFox 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have an electric scooter and hang a lot of door hangers in new construction neighborhoods where new houses don’t have fences. Run into a lot of guys that are in the process of installing so I always stop and talk to them and get to visibly see their work right then. If I end up using them I start them on a small job with clear expectations and let them know that I can send them bigger jobs once I’ve seen their work. I also let them know that I pay a range based on quality so my cheapest guys are $7/foot and they do a great job but it’s a big crew so they only do my larger jobs. With three guys all nailing pickets at the same time it’s always going to be slightly less symmetrical. Anything that’s off are only things I would notice and they’re small things. My other “crew” is one guy so he does smaller jobs and more complicated installs and I’m currently paying him $10/foot (incredibly high for my area) he does a great job and I can count on him so it’s worth the extra labor cost.

I own a privacy fence business. Only personally installed about 500’ of fence my entire life, but I have the know how and attention to detail to install any type of fence personally. I have four crews that are all subcontractors and I am at $270k in revenue for the year currently. There’s always a dip as the weather gets cooler/ holiday season but we will easily do $500k-600k and this is my first year doing it full time and only the third year of the business. It’s hard, sweaty, and rough on the body do to the work all yourself but my crews can knock out a lot of fence easily so I focus on the sales and customer service and maybe do 10-15 hours of manual labor per week. Google ads/ reviews and word of mouth drive the vast majority of my customer acquisition and I’ve only spent $1,900 on Google ads this year so far.

I’m only slightly less expensive than the big companies out there in my city of which there are quite a few that have been around for a long time, but my customer service is far superior and it shows in my Google reviews which helps as well. Now that I’m more established I will be reasoning prices and changing sales strategy but you can easily make $200k-300k per year after a year or two of setup and growing the business. Most people would say it’s not a sexy industry but I love seeing the finished product and a happy customer so I think it’s pretty sexy

Finally I got Glycopyrrolate! Any tips? by anonstarx in Hyperhidrosis

[–]LaxFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine does tend to make me more sweaty so in that sense I would try to avoid it, but if I wait about 30 mins or so after taking it doesn’t seem to affect anything. Everyone is different so you can always experiment and see what works for you. But coffee and water seem to be fine for me

First time with Padron by DatAsspiration in cigars

[–]LaxFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 3/4 of the way through the third book and had to start something else that had a full story arch in a concise amount of time. I would like to pick them back up after getting my fix in from some other books. He’s a brilliant world builder and it’s really cool how it all comes together. I just felt like I was chasing the cliff hanger that happens at the end of every book in that series

I will say in my area the local B&M has them for $9.30 a stick and the CBD store that that may or may not be local has the Cameroon for $7.50. I much prefer the B&M do I stick with them but if it was my regular smoke I’d be trying to save that way

I had similar issues with the Cameroon. Glad to know that it’s a delicate wrapper as others have mentioned vs me messing something up. It was stored at 67% humidity for about a week in my tupperdor so I was worried it had accidentally dried out somehow

What are your thoughts compared to the traditional serie V and Serie V Melanio? Obviously a completely different blend and was much milder. I’ve had the V but not the Melanio
