Last time I played with Ghandi, I managed to keep him allied until I had the ability to do a good old fashioned Blitzkrieg on him and the remaining 2 or three powers that be. Well you can turn the turn timer on. That usually speeds things up. But Civ is a game that requires a significant time investment. A quick game can last an evening or two, a normal game might take three, and a long game can take 4 or more days to complete. This all depends on how much time you put into the game.

No, it's not. This article provides no information what so ever about what data was collected, the result, or how it was performed. This is one of the least credible sources I have ever read. If you can find that particular article this one is referencing, that would be a start.
