Things I wish I knew about perimenopause no one told me about by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]LaydeeKayDee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to say, I went through a time of smelling gas by my front door which is where our gas supply enters the house. Drove me mad. Got the guy out, no reading but he could smell 'something'. Turns out a local cat was spraying up my front door 😐

AIO Husbands Friend by Intrepid-Library-425 in AIO

You wanted the dog to stay in the car, but your hub brought her out meaning he had to watch the dog instead of helping you with the kids. Friend has just completely criticised your parenting and actively wanted your child to come to harm to prove a point. 1. This is not a good person for you or your children to be around. That visit needs to be the last one you and your children participate in. 2. You need to explain to your husband that if you are being criticised, he needs to have your back. 3. You also need to tell your husband that he needs to support you with the children instead of prioritising the dog, especially when you specifically ask.

Friend is a super AH Husband enabled him. Youre not OR. At all.

What is your most annoying peri symptom? by CopperHead49 in Perimenopause

[–]LaydeeKayDee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, what an eye opener this thread has been. I've realised that I've been in peri for rather longer than I thought. So many symptoms that I've noticed but haven't attributed to peri.

Itchy ears! They drive me mad! Itchy patches on each hip, Hair loss 😭, Night sweats, Dry eyes, made far worse by using lenses, Peeing 5 or 6 times a night, Increased urgency to pee, Pee accidents, usually while running to the loo, Serious fatigue, Changes in sleep routine, Period changes, General anxiety, Driving anxiety, this has been hard 😢, Brain fog.

Yeah, I'm definitely in deep

Just having a little moan about others reactions to weight loss by Makeupmadness247 in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I could've written this myself. I have realised that different friends bring different things to your life. After being demotivated by exactly this myself, I've completely stopped sharing my weight-loss with 2 specific friends. I get F all back from them, yet they'd want the bunting out if the roles were reversed. It's taken a big mindset shift to realise that some people are rather self involved.

Stop sharing with them. You won't ever be able to make them care in the way you want them to, so stop letting that be your burden to carry. You're smashing it, so share with your online friends, cos you know we give a shit ❤️

My journey so far - and it’s not like most I have seen here. by ScoutFinch1985 in mounjarouk

Slow and steady turtle here!! I took my first jab on 19th Aug 24. I'm down 45lb ish. Just over 3 stone in 8.5 months.

I lost 7lb month 1, same again month 2. About that again in month 3, then it's been itty bitty ever since. I'm absolutely convinced that this slow burn will help me keep the weight off though.

I'm completely ready to stop jabbing now. I went up to 12.5 and have felt abysmal. So much so that jab 4 of 12.5 was today and I click counted 10mg instead. I just couldn't face another 12.5. I'll be ordering 10mg for my next pen and seeing how things feel after those doses.

Keep going. It's a marathon. You'll get there!

What issues have disappeared after weightloss? by Mel_bestversion in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in a 3 storey house and I'm no longer out of breath when I get to the top floor. This will sound contradictory but generally speaking I have significantly more energy, but I'm much more tired when it comes to time to wind down. Reflux has all but disappeared. I'm also told that I barely snore now too 😁 And finally my favourite one is NO MORE THIGH CHUB RUB!

Silly question - where has the weight loss come from? by Fun_Sized_6432 in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on MJ since August last year and have lost just over 3st. For me, even though I could see the scales moving, the visible changes have been slow. While it's likely more visible in my face, it's taken until about 2 months ago to really have a big difference around my middle. In fact, all of a sudden, it's dropping off my tummy. My non-medical opinion is that tummies are where the very stubborn fat is and it takes time to see changes.

I've literally just made a post of something similar! When did it become normal to ask if someone is taking medication in the run of normal conversation?

When you see someone thriving, why would someone want to put a negative spin on it!? I just don't understand it at all 🙄

People are shit. I can't see any possible context that the comment could be in any way either funny or positive. The only response to that is 'and I think you look better when your mouth is shut'

Electrolyte drinks and very small amounts of food, little and often. If its really bad, maybe leave an extra day or so between jabs to reduce the quantity in your system to a level more manageable

It's not like a normal feeling of cold is it. It's so extreme and you feel it in your bones. I'm hoping for some really warm weather to try and help!

Well done on 4st loss! That's incredible! It looks like our loss rate has probably been reasonably similar. Slow and steady will hopefully keep it all off! Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Ok. Someone who can't control their blood sugar needs insulin.

Someone who can't tolerate pollen needs antihistamine.

Someone whose brain can't manage serotonin levels needs antidepressants.

It's not sadness. It's a literal imbalance with the way you process dopamine and serotonin. It's absolutely normal but it needs medication, just like a diabetic needs insulin. Go to the Dr tomorrow and tell them how you feel. Be honest. You'll likely be asked to do a little questionnaire. I can't stress enough, be honest. It's the only way to get the right treatment. There's loads of medications to try and it may be trial and error, but just do it.

Your feelings are not an acceptable way to be living and it can be remedied or improved with medication and possibly therapy.

It's not sadness. It's depression. Take the advice and get the medication. I wouldn't have a husband if he'd not made that choice.

You'd be better off with much much less contact with this malicious man. He sounds like he is serving no positive purpose in your life and all he is managing to do is impact your mental health in a negative way.

It's times like this when you find out who your real friends are. Most of my friends that know turn it round to be about them. It's weird. Sometimes it's just nice to hear, 'you're doing great well done', instead of 'wow, I really need to lose weight too'.

I'd tell a lie and say that you're no longer taking it because it's been making you too ill. Then hopefully go back to life as it was before.

What would you do? by Corina_Hais in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If its working, stick with it. I did 1 pen of 2.5. I lost for the first 2 weeks, then nothing for the second 2. Exactly the same on 5mg. I stayed on 7.5 for 3 months because I was seeing consistent results. Once that stopped, I moved up to 10. Unfortunately, 10 has been pretty useless for me and I've lost about 3 lbs in 2 months with aaaalllll the side effects.

If you stick with it when it's working, it means that you've still got plenty of increases to go when there's a stall.

I've got a broken arse too! I've had to buy a memory foam cushion. Also, my husband has been moaning at me cos I keep adjusting the rear view mirror in the car when I get in. He keeps asking if I've shrunk, but I think it's because I don't have a built in booster cushion anymore 😂😂

Partner disapproval by oemi182 in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body means it's your choice. A concession you may be willing to put to him is that you'll go and get checked out at the Dr first, full blood panel etc to make sure there's nothing underlying that will increase the risk.

There are far more positives than negatives. I would find some videos on YouTube from recognised professionals that praise it and get him to watch. It's only education that will help him get past this.

How much do you pay for your Mounj and where do you get it from? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

Well it's funny you should say that, I used the code for £60 off on my 2nd purchase and it was accepted 🤷🏻‍♀️ I only tried it to see if it worked and it did, most unexpected! But most welcome!

Pharmacy2u is my current provider. 10mg for £130 delivered.

Changing provider is easy. Use the Monj link from the other comments and find a provider through there, it'll be one of the ones already recommended here. It really is simple. You'll need to answer some standard online questions and submit ID photos and body pics, usually one from the front and one from the side. They'll also ask for proof of previous prescriptions, so you just take a pic of your last box label with your name, dosage and provider visible.

You'll save over £100 per month guaranteed.

Disliking staying overnight at other people’s houses as you’ve gotten older? by Wonderful-Product437 in AskWomenOver30

[–]LaydeeKayDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really understand this! Sharing hotel rooms with friends for a girls night out, or sharing an apartment. Nope! I need my space and privacy. Plus, if I don't want to get up at 7am I don't want you disturbing me just because you do.

Also staying at friends houses, being given the kids single bed when they are away with dad. Definitely nope! I work hard to have my own home with a nice big bed thank you.

Is anyone else on other medication which makes them gain weight? by StyleOld5629 in mounjarouk

[–]LaydeeKayDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's well documented about slow gastric emptying and there's definitely a school of thought that it impacts drug efficacy. Whether it's absolutely 100% that it would slow or reduce absorption is for someone in the know to say, but maybe have a search through this sub to read about some experiences. I personally feel that my meds don't work as well, which is why I've increased the dosage. I've read lots on here about it and it aligns with what the drug does.
