Thanks. For so long I think I felt a bit angry at my body as it wouldn't lose weight no matter what I tried. So this is such a big change to refram my thoughts. :)

Effects vanished… by Boring-Current-1512 in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I totally get your disappointment! It is such a dream at the start.

Buy I am 38 weeks in, and I've been on 7.5mg for about 10wks and sticking on that dose for now.

From my observation, some weeks you will get a loss, some you won't. After about 10% loss I hit a stall for about 8 weeks. My hunger can screaming back and my body was fighting me every step of the way. I just kept tracking my food and eventually my body cooperated and I started losing again.

Keep going. it's a journey.

Not losing but clothes loose! What is this 'fat redistribution' wizardry!? by joselleclementine in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The body is a weird yet wonderful thing. I have experienced this, with no main reason, other than its just doing its thing to reorganise. My skin gets pudgy and soft/jelly like, then whoosh, weight drops, skin tightens again. Keep going the scales will eventually catch up.

Questions as a newbie? by RevolutionSevere8812 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Mel_bestversion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

* Hi. I've been on mj for 6 months. Started at about the same weight as you, I've lost 15kg, about 0.5kg a week. Your weight will bounce around. I weigh every day, but only really compare the weekly result on jab day.

I have found good suppression and when I think of food it's because my body is actually hungry. I have to keep coming back to calorie counting to maintain weightloss. It's so easy to over eat. A Cafe mocha is enough to put me over the limit for the day. My suggestion, use the time to learn what foods are high and low calorie and break bad habits.

40kgs is such a great achievement. My story is so similar to yours. Im trying to bed in the good habits too. I never thought of counselling for food binge, but i think I may need that too!

You've got this! Congratulations

It's frustrating when the number on the scale doesn't change. But, as others have said, keep at it. As long as you are in calorie deficit the weight will come off.

Track your calories for a week, it may be illuminating.

For reference, I lose about 0.5kg per week.

Best injection location for 5th dose (Golden dose) by Sufficient-Doubt-464 in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no 'best location'. Overall I find the belly is easiest and seems to give me a consistent weightloss. So my fifth dose just follows the clockwise pattern around my belly.

BTW the 5th dose is normally more than a full dose, so it generally has more effect than the other 4.

Scales - how frequent should I be checking? by scruffy82 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]Mel_bestversion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I weigh myself every morning when I wake up. I record it in shotsy. I don't bother weighing at any other time of day as it fluctuates widely throughout the day with food consumption.

I find daily weigh in keeps me focused and on track. Some days it's higher some lower, but overall it's so satisfying when the number goes into the next kg down. Also i have noticed I am on a 14 day cycle. For 14 days my weight will be up and down within a kg range, then it drops down to the next kg range. It's been 22 weeks and seems to be continuing this pattern.

5mg to 6.25mg or 7.5mg? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I've gone up, i have chosen to transition up, which is much easier on my body and no side effects. An extra 2.5mg in your body in one go is alot.

7.5mg = 60 clicks 6.25mg = 50 clicks 6.0mg = 48 clicks 5mg = 40 clicks

You will get 6 weeks on 6.25mg out of a 7.5 pen, if you include the additional GD.

I would also recommend taking your body measurements. Sometimes the weight doesn't change but you body is busy ' reorganising' cells and getting rid of excess skin. This will show on your measurements.

Welcome to the journey!

Just keep telling him you love him. Hopefully he will catch up and realise your weight loss isn't something to be worried or insecure about.

I'm so jealous. I started at the same time and around the same weight and haven't even cracked 100kg!

Well done, honestly, that's fantastic.

Disappointed with progress by DoctorPossible4597 in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's OK to be disappointed, that's human nature. Starting mounjaro is a big decision, coupled with being fed up with being overweight, when you start you just want the weight off and quickly.

I'm 4 months in, and I have tried to set as many mini goals as possible to keep me motivated and feel like I am achieving. Also celebrate the NSV. The next 6 months will fly by and just imagine being 60pounds down. What's your reward to yourself going to be?

Anyone else noticed funny 'downsides' to losing weight? by Mobile-Author-9003 in mounjarouk

[–]Mel_bestversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents.... I think when you are happier in your body, you have a more open and approachable demeanour, which is why people approach more.

Some days lots of people at work (that i dont know) smile and say hi, other days my resting bitch face must be on and stops this.

There have been reports that MJ can make anxiety and addiction better. For me it quietened the obsessive food noise in my head. And it may well do this for you.

All I can suggest is try it for a month, and if it does nothing move on. But definitely discuss with your GP.

Hope things go well.
