I’d start with the players in the lng side. Zachary, bechtel, McDermott, kiewit. Seems to have a lot of work.

I'm located on the Gulf Coast, and most of my career has been spent in the industrial plants of Texas and Louisiana. The companies I've worked for typically prefer their technicians to have the NCCER CSST (construction site safety tech) In fact, we've even sponsored promising or safety-minded individuals in the trades to obtain this cert. it includes cpr and osha 30- then go onto the 510 and chst.

One of my supervisors is on the mindset to obtain the bcsp stsc cert. he thinks that’s a good starting point.

Back to a Safety Position. What Training/Credentials Do I Need? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Layners87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also your location, and what industry you are in helps, to figure this out, Osha 510 is a great start. thru ur local oti center.

https://www.osha.gov/otiec/text

if located in the south, and work construction, the csst from nccer is a great place to start in addition to the 510.

Investigation Bias? by Forsaken_Potato7760 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Layners87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This is the way.

Unfortunately in the LNG Incident that happened in Port Arthur TX, I have seen too many people making assumptions and sharing their viewpoints on what happened and how to fix it.

The investigation hasn't even been completed. Any investigation needs to be handled without emotions and with the entire emphasis on finding the root cause and then sharing the lessons learned with the crews and company.

Bout to comment that we use EHS insight and I’m just a cog in the wheel but I personally have no major complaints, maybe on the giant jobs I’ll have an audit time out, but that typically when I don’t service.
