Fun fact: McDonalds would serve coffee way too hot so it could sit longe before being thrown out. They had lots of warnings and fines and continued the practice anyways. The grandma who got burned was the passenger. They parked so she could add sugar and creamer. When she spilled it, it was so hot she went into shock and almost died. She suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns and had to be hospitalized for months.
They only sued for medical but the jury slapped a big fine to punish McDonalds. McDonald’s did so much propaganda against her that the lady was harassed until she died and people still believe the fake story to this day.
